If there is WSOP plans for 2021, I am planning to by driving all the way from east coast ( NY/NJ).

Anyone ever did it ?

How long it will take 500-700 miles a day?
Where to make stops?
What route to take ?
Any suggestions welcome.

I drive from dallas to vegas once, it took like a day.

I rather just fly.

Where to make stops? I just stop whenever I get tired, usually some middle of nowhere place.
What route to take ? Google Maps will show you the best route.

I flew every year since 2006 . But this year I don’t want to fly due to COVID.

I don’t have time constraint. I am planning to make 1 or 2 stops at any popular casino poker tournaments events if possible on my way to Las Vegas.

4ish days depends on you stops
when your ass hurts
use waze, it goes around traffic the fastest way

You will be far more likely to be exposed to Covid spending days in a Vegas casino (not to mention various hotels and other indoor locations on the way) than you will be spending a few hours in an airplane.

But it’s a beautiful country out there. Enjoy the ride.

I have driven from the east coast to the west, but it was part of a lengthy roadtrip. Are you looking to get there more or less as fast as possible, or are you looking to make more of a vacation out of it and see some sights?

I've driven coast to coast and made a number of other long road trips. I enjoy spending time in areas I haven't been. I recommend planning your trip with stops along the way to see some sights.

When I drove from California to Boston we stopped in Salt Lake City to see my sister, Chicago for a Cubs Game, Pittsburgh for a Pirates game and a Red Sox game in Boston.

I guess it depends on what you like. For example, if close to Memphis stay near Beale St. and have dinner at The Rendezvous. Stuff like that.

I can't believe you mentioned Memphis without also mentioning Tunica, MS.

I would drive across the G. Washington Bridge via I-80 then cut south to pick up the I-81 from Harrisburg, PA. Take a right on the I-40 towards Knoxville, TN. Turn right on US-95 right after Needles, CA.

About a day into your journey, or as you pass Little Rock, AR, you'll discover how unbelievably long and monotonous the journey is.
