$7.50 for hot dog at the hot dog cart. Outrageous...lol.

True but numbers were down almost 11% for the employee event, too. I wouldn't be surprised if the reduced number trend applies to the ME, as well.

Colossus has pretty much peaked and the casino figured out it's not really economically viable to give the tournament a good structure because of just how much expenses it takes to host the event [Less cash games/sats going on and the amount of staff it takes to host it]. Wouldn't surprise me if it just becomes an annual event with 17-19k players every year since they will probably never exceed Colossus-1 numbers.

Agreed. Don't think they'll ever touch those original numbers again

Colossus will still be popular for folks who want a relatively low buy-in option for a WSOP bracelet event and want to go to Vegas for a week and experience the whole WSOP circus, but after playing it once, it won't be a big draw again for most players, including me.

If I reg the night before the milly and arrive during level 2 do I lose my blinds?

How has the temp been in the pavilion and surrounding rooms? Still freezing?

Seems the move would be to not show up until the tournament is heads up.

If you can manage to get them to extend late reg period, yes.

I see that they are using the Miranda room for tables this year -- where is the food kitchen -- or did they do away with that this year?

It's still there, a bit downsized choices-wise, but there's no seating in Miranda for eating/chilling out. There is a lounge now on the Pavilion stage. Bracelet ceremonies are held in Amazon.

It's still ridiculously expensive. 12.50 for a little boxed sandwich, 7.50 for a hotdog, etc.

The teriyaki place in there was quite tasty and was a lot of food. For $15 seems much better value than the burger/dogs.

I'm pretty sure sold stacks are put into play at beginning of tournament, trickling away blinds until you show up.

If it's a concern to you, you can late-reg and will receive a full starting stack.

re: blinding out. I can only say what I saw in practice, but in the bigger events, I can't figure out how they would even know that the seat was sold or be able to keep up with that. Every single person who showed up late was given a full stack, and I NEVER saw anyone being blinded down unless they had already shown up at the table and then left.

Now, the smaller events, they might be able to do that, but in the 2k-person fields, no one was even checking. Floors weren't tracking it, and of course the dealers don't know. stacks were kept in the rack for latecomers, but no dealer ever put out a stack unless the guy was there with his ID, etc.

So I think maybe even THEY aren't sure how it's supposed to work. I did hear a story about someone in the 10k O8 who early regged and got blinded down, so it's inconsistent at best.

Last year I recall the salads were pretty decent, but where do you go to eat? Maybe ordering room service is a better idea and going back to the room for dinner break?

Don't know about every event, but in several of the larger field NLHE events, I showed up late and received full stack.

Amazing....this is covered in the rules.

No stacks are put into play until a player shows up at the table.

If a player who is registered does not show up to take a hand by the start of the third level will be unregistered, their stack is never put in play and they may receive a refund for their buy in.

Edit, link to rules:

I'm still unclear about this; if a player has his ticket and seat assignment, for example 2 days before, what happens here ?

The other is the situation that if the player is registered and hasn't yet picked up his ticket what here ? I would believe in this case he would be able to get the refund.

You can eat in the table area setup on the stage in cash game room (think it's pavilion). Like 15-20 tables w/chairs setup

A stack was blinded off at my table in HORSE yesterday and then was picked up about 2 hours in. The guy showed up maybe an hour after that (another player now in his seat since the floor picked up the seat card when they pulled the stack). He went off with the floor, not sure what happened next.

Thanx, I ask this for I've wired the money for the event and would like to keep the possibilities open to get a refund, if possible. I'll be there 5 days before the Monster and wouldn't like to pick up my ticket early (though it would skip long lines) and not be able to be refunded.

Can I say ,ticket in hand , done deal ??
