Modern poker has HU VPIP 80% or more, so raising 59% of hands seems pretty standard. That Stu raised 4x gives you some insight into 90s NLHE, John not 3betting is also pretty indicative of the passivity with which they played, but it'd be ok to call for deception sometimes with A8o in the bb. Incredibly lul though that John leads out on this flop, which is a flop that the preflop raiser would cbet 100% in modern poker. Funnier yet that Stu raises since it's such a dry flop and he only gets called by better. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, but the stats are for the final table that was started with 6 players. So, from 11:00AM till 3:00PM with 3 breaks of 15 minutes each, they deal 102 hands. Players got eliminated and the only hand HU was Stuey vs. John in the hand I just posted above.

Well, I believe Stuey was the best NL player ever to be alive. Even by today standards if Stuey would be around he will eat alive his competition.

Here is the hand #29 (a big bluff from Stuey)
$2,000 ante and $5,000/10,000 blind level.

sb Ron Stanley - Ron Stanley and Stu Ungar limp and check the A 9 6 flop.
Ron Stanley bets 25,000, Stu Ungar raises 60,000 and Ron Stanley calls after the 8 turn card. Stu Ungar bets 220,000 and Ron Stanley folds after the K on the river.
Ron shows a 9 for middle pair and Stu Ungar shows QT for a bluff.

Break at 12:28 PM.
Cards back in air at 12:45 PM.

Levels increase to $2,000 ante with $10,000/20,000 blinds.
