My first post, so be gentle.

I have had mixed results in local low buy-in ($65-500) tourneys in northern California and really want to play the WPT $10K main event starting next week. But I also could really use the money from selling my seat. So, any thoughts or info on the EV of cashing/busting a bounty player in this tourney? I've looked at the website and can't find where the cashing point is (but I assume it's at the end of day 2 (surviving to play Thursday).

And complicating matters is that I have the week off and could instead play at least 3 low buy-in tourneys locally next week instead of playing the main event at the Shooting Star. Kind of a one-in-the-hand, two-in-the-bush dilemma.

I guess I am sick of pushing from the BB with QQ and having some idiot limping from the cut off call me with A3os and rivering the A. My hope is that the level of play will be better in a $10K tourney and that would reward my more solid play as opposed to sitting with the usual donks in several of the small daily tourneys.

Thanks for any help with this. I am just really sick of being beat up by bad players and a brutal deck.

there are 50 shooting stars, 25 each starting day.

They don't define the money bubble until after day 2a when they have collected all the entries.

It's already started and thus a moot post but I'd sell the seat and have the 10k cash, play some lower stakes and have a BR.

Also, don't think the QQ vs A3 hand you mention wont happen to you in a 10k, poker is poker and people play how ppl play. There are plenty of ppl with too much money and not a lot of skill who love to play big buy in poker.

Yeah ... you gotta hate when you shove with QQ and get looked up by A3. Hope you saved your 10k

If you can't beat the local donks then what makes you think you have even a small chance of cashing in a WPT event?

The Shooting Star is different. It's a bounty tournament. All it might take is one lucky hand. Get it in with a bounty you have covered, get lucky, and bam, 5 grand.

the fact that you are "tired" of getting it in with QQ vs a3 and hope to play against better players means you have no idea what tournament poker is all about or what kind of players you want to play against
