$1K, $2.5K and $5K Events. I was going to play the $5K next weekend.

Anyone else going? How do we predict attendance will be?

Geez why do I cringe when someone brings up the WPT in Niagara Falls. LMAO. The website doesn't even mention the event according to my research.

Which website? It's on the Fallsview site and the WPT site.

For the 1k, 100+ seats left for 1A, ~60 for 1B.

To the OP: main gets 300-400 players every year.

What's the story behind this event? I here a lot of people talking bad about it but wonder what the story is.

I am flying in for the $2500 and the $5000. I pre-registered for the $2500 because the woman on the phone said it might sell out in advance.

She said the sattelites were already sold out

Here is the information I was given:

Lots available for the $5K, $2500, & $1500 Shootout
$1100 A and B - 80% full
$275 super satellite is sold out
$550 - 90% full

It is unnecessary to pre-pay for the $2,500 and other events, except for the $1,100 and super satellites. The $275 did not sell out until recently.

The $1100 usually sells out. There were a few years where the event was sold out but people had vouchers for it and they sold them at ridiculous markups (20 - 30%).

IIRC it was sold out bc people did this. At that time you could buy multiple entries yourself, so lots of guys bought up several of them and then sold them at a markup.

Do cash games run during this time, and for anyone who's been in the past (or is there now), how high do they usually go? Does a 5/10 run regularly through the weekend? Anything higher?

They're on the bravo app so you can check out what games are running. There will be 5/10 running all weekend and they have had some 50/100.

Thanks -- though from the looks of it, they're completely swamped...50 players on waitlist for 4 5/10NL tables, yikes. Are they always that packed for the WPT weekend? That's like a 4+ hour wait, if not more, right?

Also, I read something on another forum about the cash room game actually not being open 24/7, which didn't sound right to me -- said they closed the room at like 3am each morning or something. That can't be right, or is it?

I'm not down this yr, but last yr they might have had waits listed like that but I never remember waiting very long. I think a lot of people throw their names on and just leave the room. I'm almost certain I played later than 3am last yr and the game was still going when I left, I think it's 24 hrs.

FYI didn't end up going, but friend who's there says that cash games most definitely run 24/7, and 5/10 was going always, with occasional 10/25 and 50/100 and a crazy 5/10 PLO game running too.

bump. starts in less than 4 weeks.

$2500 is good structure/chips so ill play that one. good mix of satty winners and regs.

besides playground poker, this 1k/2.5k/5k series are def the biggest prize pools in live MTTs @ north america that doesnt have an LOL 30% withholding tax.

How is the $1100 event? Is it pretty spewy? I'm trying to figure out if the blinds go up too quick making it push or fold after a couple levels? Did it used to me 10,000 chips and now it's 30,000 chips?

yea it appears this year they made it 30,000 chips for the $1100 and 40,000 chips for the $2,500 and $5,000.

pretty nice. up from 10k and 20k and 30k. biggest gains in the $1100 tho.
