Does anyone have more details about this? For example, the Fri-Sat July 16-17 200k guaranteed tournament, is the final day for that played that following Sunday providing you make it through whatever round you play 4A-D?

In the past, the 2nd day of this tournament starts at noon Sunday and plays to completion that day/night. Would imagine this will be the case, again.

The TD has responded on this forum in the past, so maybe he can verify.

With the "Official" opening of the expansion (and new Poker Room) scheduled for occur after conclusion of the WPT, does anyone have any information as to where the tournament with be held??? Same usual space in the Choctaw Grand Theater? Or, in new Poker Room?

Monster turnout for this. Opening event had a 40k guarantee and it ended up around 260k prize pool. 200k with 4 squads and the guarantee was almost covered by A squad. Only reason it didn’t is they sold out and didn’t have room for all of the alternates. Probably going to be close to a million dollar prize pool on a $200 entry.

anyone have any info on the dealer shortage and reg lines being long wait for the 200k?

They had 46 tables with 10 on a table. Reg lines were long because it sold out and everyone in line had to wait until someone busted. I registered at 11:15 and there was no line. That’s the risk guy take if you try and late register.

There are 200-300 people in line now and its not moving.....been standing in the same spot for almost 30mins.

It's a complete **** show. Now they are saying everyone that was waiting in the left line for the 12:00 have to move to the end of the line on the right side and can't get an alternate seat from the left. Some guys waiting since 10 are heated.

Nightmare. Just stood in line 40 minutes to be told I was in the wrong line. Normally both sides are identical. Now in line for alternates for the noon. Apparently the 5pm is already sold out? How the hell they only have 46 dealers is insane.

They cancelled the 7:00.
Can they not call in more local dealers?

5pm was just moved to 6pm.

From what I've heard they tried to hire 85 dealers with only 49 accepting and then two of those quit. The dealers are working the tournaments 14+hrs/day.
It's mostly old school dealers; I'm wondering if the younger ones found new jobs during the pandemic.

They got the lines worked out(didn't follow through on the rediculusness of moving people to the end of the line after waiting for hours) and it turned out alright, just [A LOT] longer than usual waits to get into the tournaments.

horrible structure for a $580. It should have 20k starting stack instead of 10k.

Not sure I agree with the opinion of placing people appropriately in the line as “ridiculous.” Having been there, many of those at the front of the second line (far left line facing left reg desk) were angling to cut the line as they made their choice to line up as alternates for the noon flight. Those in the right side line chose to register for the, then, 5 pm flight. This was at 10:45 am. Then, after people started busted out of the noon, 2-3 pm, they came back to the far left line to register for the next flight even though there were those same people there from 3-4+ hours ago still sitting in line. Do agree it was a cluster eff and could have absolutely been handled with clear directions and communications from the TD in close coordination with the cashiers and other Choctaw employees.

I went to register for the 12:00 at about 11:30(not knowing about the dealer shortage or turnout) and got in the left line thinking you could register from any line like normal. After waiting in line for about an hour one of the cashier's came and told everyone in the left line they had to move to the end of the right line for an alternate seat for the 12:00 and they wouldn't do alternates from the left. That's what was rediculous.

Will the main event be like this as well or will the higher buy in make registering more reasonable?

With the dealer shortage, what is the no limit cash game scene like? No cash games until the series is over?

If running, What is the highest cash game they will spread this weekend? How big does it play?

Cash games were running but wait lists were long. I was on 2/5 and 5/10 list for about 4 hours before I gave up and went home. At one point there were over 200 total on the lists. 5/10 was the biggest they ran this weekend.

The cash game dealers are a different pool than the tourney dealers, so that helps that issue some.
