When is the ME FT scheduled for?

My guess is they will play down to final table on Sunday Aug 5 and then play final table Monday Aug 6. I’ll talk to Jimmy and find out for sure.

Looks like a good job of getting different events in there. Dont know if I have seen a 4 max NL tourney before. Plus the PLO and Congress, looks like Im going to try to make it down there for some of it.

The 4-max is something that they have run at Choctaw Durant at least once before. Not sure what the turnout was though...you would have to look back through the pages on Jimmy's site to find it. But it was within the past few event Series as I recall...

Curious whether anyone knows for sure...I know WPT embraced the big blind ante nonsense, but structure for the Main is showing a traditional structure. Is this an error on Jimmy's site or does it mean we actually get a traditional structure, Matt Savage be damned?

Hoping for the latter...would make the trip for the Main if we get traditional antes.

It isn’t an error the big blind ante will not be used, you will get the traditional ante system.

Have you played in a BB ante tournament? I played a few this summer in Vegas for the first time and I thought it was the best change in tournament poker in many years. To each their own, but I can't imagine preferring the traditional ante beatdown over the smoothness of BB ante. So much more enjoyable and you get more hands. Really hoping this becomes the norm in tourney poker.

From a dealer at the Wsop: Another episode of laziness in the great USA being rewarded...so today, I deal only my second "big blind ante" tournament. I come into level 7 and in my 30 minute down, I get out 22 hands...guess how many of the times the BBA was out waiting for the dealer to pull in after I had stuffed the cards in and cut the new deal....just guess...... THREE !!!!

listen, you want to "revolutionize" poker, instead of all BBA tourneys, let's do ZERO phones out or on the table...absolutely NONE, START to FINISH...if it is more important, stay home, in your hotel room, or computer screen...

The laziness of poker players this summer astounds me...{know that I am not speaking of the a good portion of circuit players, you guys are the nuts...but help us out with those who cause you to get less hands and cause our $$$ to go down thanks to their rudeness and laziness} ....

I guess people like you are more than willing to keep money from people like me out of the prize pools...THAT certainly helps you out. Some of us HAVE choices (and lots of discretionary income).

If you have READ the other threads, you would have KNOWN that yes, I have played a BBA event (and have traveled to play specifically because events REMAINED traditional ante structure). However, rather than clutter THIS thread, I will simply point you back to THOSE responses.

You are literally the only person on either side of the argument who I have seen claim that they will simply refuse to play the other type of tourney no matter what. Having played (and now dealt) both types of tourneys, I have a very strong preference, but I won't avoid a good tourney just because it isn't my preference.

So I don't think either way is going to have a huge effect on prize pools. And every poll I have ever seen (and talk at the tables in Vegas) indicates more people prefer the BBA than the other way, so if there are others who will refuse, logic dictates more will refuse if the less popular way is used.

How long before the event do the schedules typically come out?

I'm going to be in NorCal during part of the Thunder Valley event in September, but they haven't even released the schedule yet.

Hard to give a definite answer as each tourney director releases his tourneys differently. No set time frame.

Less than 2 weeks til the tourneys start and Choctaw is running out of rooms. And I’m ready to play and see old friends and make new ones.

I was overruled by WPT. As Choctaw is under contract with WPT we must use their Championship Structures. Sorry for the confusion. Jimmy

Wait...does this mean ante structure has been changed? If so, that SUCKS! And, would also mean my travel plans change substantially...

The main event has changed to big blind anti but it is the only tourney using the BBA. Jimmy argued with Matt Savage but in the end Matt won as contract said they had to use Matt’s structure and the big blind anti. New structure can be found at pokerexecutives.com.
