I took a little bit of a hiatus from the game (6 years) and just started playing again during the 2021 WSOP. I remember these Venetian threads used to be really active 6+ years ago and now, nothing. It actually appears as though all of the tournament threads are pretty much dead. Perhaps Two Plus Two just doesn't have the traffic or interest that it once did.

Agree with this

Why can’t we get mtt series like this in Atlantic City or Philly area (parx/ etc)? The northeast is a joke compared to Vegas.

Even Atlantic City- when are they going to start having mtts again? 2025 lmao.

Venetian management dumped 2+2 when the site took an editorial stance against that property because of Adelson’s position on online gambling. I’m not sure anyone can blame them.

And given the multitude of outlets to get info about series nowadays, I’m not sure 2+2 is really as necessary for that sort of stuff.

It’s really just become a site to argue about topical stories of the day, news, politics and other poker drama stuff.

Borgata is coming up with Spring Poker Series in April 2022 if new Covid wave doesn’t damper their plans.

Yeah, but that was going on before I stopped logging on and the Venetian threads were usually some of the more popular ones. Of course a lot of the responses were about Adelson, but at least there were still people discussing the offerings from the property, which imo, are still among the best. Plus, most of those who were complaining about the online poker stance should be in their mid 30s by now, right

Well, I think COVID finished off whatever remaining actual event threads there were. Even in the WSOP threads it’s mainly talk about COVID-related topics.

I’m not sure there is really much left to argue about when it comes to stuff like structure and rake. People are just happy to be able to play wherever they can play.

I would be very skeptical of this thought. Until I see something posted about a planned mtt series on their website/bravo… I don’t believe it will happen. There have been no mtt festivals at Parx, Foxwoods, Borgata, etc northeast. With recent Covid news, I just don’t see an mtt series happening unless they announce it soon. Think it’s better to plan for trips to FL/Vegas/ Texas if you wanna play mtts and you live in the northeast.

The WSOPc event at Turning Stone is getting a lot of chatter for this reason, though that should be a separate thread.
