Locally (Western PA), our poker rooms have not yet reopened.

<Casinos have>

If/when Poker rooms do reopen, perhaps a 5/6 player cap will be in place. Tournaments may be several more months out.

Poker rooms in NH are running tournaments again. 6-Max. Getting about 75-125 players per poker atlas (which is on par with before COVID), though the structures are not great due to difficulty getting dealers. And the availability of tournaments is significantly lower than before.

NH is an interesting test case... a largely rural state with several pockets of population density. But that state has been virtually completely open for business since early June and has not seen any sort of COVID problems, despite being next door to a state which had lots of issues early on and whos more restrictive policies led many to cross the state border for goods/services. In any case, as we have seen throughout the country, early success does not automatically mean long-term success when it comes to COVID. But the NH experience definitely stands out to this point. Maybe its just plain old luck.

Love live tournies cos I am +EV over good sample but what I like most about them is social interaction, profiling ppl and live reads. All this is gone currently with masks and fields smaller anyway. Add in health risks and live tournies r a totla no go 4 me.

Orleans now has their tournament tables (along with cash) partitioned with plexiglass, 8 players per table.

Last Friday (08/14/20) they had 157 entries in their 7pm tourney...and cash area had about 22 tables running. So seems to be getting back to normal for the local degen crowd

last weekend was the North Dakota State Poker Championship. 720 entries in four flights, $86,000 prize pool, $20K to first. I played, didn't make it to the final day.
there's a couple traveling poker tours in the state that have tourneys most weekends, usually get between 60-140 entries

👏👍
I think vaccine is here , if managed properly we should be back to normal within next 2 to 4 months.

Imo this is overly optimistic. Things are going in the wrong direction with Covid restrictions in Vegas. But I too am keeping my fingers crossed. If we can get back to the way things were in the late summer by springtime, I think that would represent a really good outcome.
