So the Orleans is running a short senior's series a week after the WSOP Seniors, as well as a Ladies series (with some open events) during the final week of June.

http://seniorpokertour.com/2018spt-vegas/ (June 22-25)

http://ladiesinternationalpokerserie...es-poker-week/ (June 25-July 1)

The senior's schedule includes the Senior Omaha Hi/Lo National Championship as a $340 buy-in on Sunday June 24th. I can think of no better locale for this event!

If you aren't an OMC or a lady, the Orleans had some nice low buy-in mixed events last summer -- think about playing a $150 Triple Draw Mix with a table with multiple players who thought it was a NLHE event! Not sure if they are doing this again or just running their regular tournament schedule during times other than the seniors and ladies festivals.

Hopefully some of you seniors will stick around Vegas for the Senior NLHE Event at The Orleans June 22-24. Great structure for a $400 tournament, and reasonable rake as well. If you turn 50 anytime before December 31, 2018 you can register for it. I have always enjoyed playing in The Orleans poker room. There are many other poker tourneys taking place there this summer as well.

Has anyone played any of the Orleans Summer Poker Series events this year or in the past? How are they run? Several of their tournaments are on my radar for my trip in a few weeks. I've never stepped foot in The Orleans. I'd imagine the entrants will be an older crowd, which I'm cool with, I just want smoothly run events.

Has anyone tried the $25000 guarantee at 11 am in the Orleans? Might have to give it a run Tuesday, too hot outside nothing else to do

Haven't played in the series, but their tournament staff is polished. They run a weekly that often has 200+ entries, so they get lots of practice. The biggest question is how well the add-on people they hire as temps will perform.

Played the $150 11AM bounty tourney. Super good structure for the price point. 111 entries I think. I think at the final table average stack was still probably 30~BB. Good dealers and floor to boot.

They run a good tourney, much better than you'd expect given the BI levels. Yes, generally older crowd.
The structures are pretty good for the first ~3 hours, then it starts to approach shove/fold.

I know the $150 bounty tourney I played lots of the levels the blinds didnt double. Go from like 150/300 to 200/400 ect. We were down to 7 from 111 in about 7 hours and average stack was about 250000 and bb was still only 10000. I thought it was a slow strutctue for a 150 price point. Lots of low buyin tourneys around here the big stacks have 10-15bb by the final table.

Wow, 352 entries in the Friday night. They used all the extra tables in the hallway and still had alternates.

I'm going to be playing some of the non-NLHE events at The Orleans. I'll likely play the HORSE on 6/24 and O/8 on 6/25. I'm really looking forward to playing these events even though I'll just be burning $$$.

The HORSE tourny structure is exactly like their weekly HORSE structure. Although I am a HORSE noob, I feel the structure was set up perfectly and allows for plenty of play. Not sure what you are looking for, but I can tell you from experience that one week that we were 4 handed after 7 hours of play when we decided to chop. So expect to be there even longer due to the expected higher number of entrants during the month of June.

Heads up to people - register early. They don't have enough dealers to meet demand for the popular events. They had to press floorpeople and cashiers into dealing duty. Today's NLHE event had over 60 alternates. They got people in within a reasonable time, but it's still better to start at the start.

I played in a few tournaments there over the past couple of weeks. They really need to get more dealers scheduled for these. I know on one day they blamed two dealers calling in sick but they should really have more than the minimum required dealers for these tournaments. No one wants to late reg 2 levels in and then miss 2 more levels before they're seated.

Otherwise I'm very happy with how they run their tournaments other than not updating the "players remaining" count until pretty late in the tournament.

They just don't have enough dealers. They hired all the qualified ones they could.

Pat of it is that the Orleans doesn't usually run a June series. It was either in May or not at all. People didn't know to apply for a job there. Any of you WSOP dealers that are tired of the CET treatment should give them a call.

SO next year this event might not happen except in may. Correct?
Orleans has always got good press about their tournies from what I have read over the years

I don't know. As far as I know this series is successful. Next year people will know about and apply to work. The Orleans might also try different recruiting methods. They only had one tournament early on that didn't meet the guarantee, something the Venetian can't say.
