A shuffling machine can be programmed to infinite details like which seat gets which starting cards and which will be flop , turn and river cards.

But why a casino will do that where they are not a bank but just dealing cards.

I think any table games where players are playing against the casino (bank) are more likely.

But again we don’t know.

But one thing for sure. All the casino jurisdictions should come up with explanation of how they are verifying the programing of a shuffling devices.
I agree technology can be rigged. But casinos stand to lose billions if it ever happens on their watch. Seems like a risky gambit when the entire industry is already rigged legally for them to make tons of money without trying very hard.

The inherent problem with this speculation is that, by definition, you aren't committing the perfect crime because the perfect crime necessarily involves zero co-conspirators. In order to rig machines you need far too many conspirators from programmers to individuals who decide when to turn on the doom switch, to dealers who still have to cut the cards precisely in order to have the favored individual win. None of these people are compensated well enough to shut up, especially given that during the pandemic they had, collectively, an employment downturn and reduced income, thereby increasing the incentive to tell all and get paid.

If this was happening over the past five years, by now we would have heard from a leaker, a disgruntled former employee, an anonymous tell all book, etc.

Add to that that this is poker - a rounding error in most casino's P&L calculations. The level of stupidity needed to rig poker and risk losing your license to run slot machines and table games is unimaginable.

I still say this was an odd bump but in case anyone missed it, there’s a recent thread in NVG about this:
