Current plan - Clearly dependent upon how many days I survive in the multiday events
both Senior and Non Senior and if I play the Main Event or not.

6/21 WSOP SENIOR A & B if necessary
6/23 NUGGET SENIOR
6/27 WSOP SUPER SENIOR
6/28 NUGGET SUPER SENIOR
6/29 NUGGET SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
7/1 VENETIAN SUPER SENIOR
7/6 ORLEANS SUPER SENIOR

I'm considering playing in the Senior Daily Deepstacks on Wed 6/28 and/or 7/5, if I am coffee'd up and ready to play early at 9am on those days. Not sure if it is a significant advantage to play in the smaller field senior tourney, or the larger field at the 1pm daily deepstack. I've played both a few times in the past with just a min cash in each to show for it. Probably less aggressive overall play at the seniors, but that doesn't mean there won't be a similar percentage of skilled players vs. avg. to poor players. Is there is a significant advantage to one or the other? Any thoughts or shared experiences would be appreciated.

I'm in town from 6/27-7/6, with the Colossus as the central focused event. It's been a while since i played a live tournament, or even spent much time in casinos (last LV visit 2019), so I want to warm up with a 1 day tourney at the WSOP venue, then play cash and relax for a day before entering Colossus 6/30. I'm leaning towards the 1pm general field daily on 6/28 at 1:00 over the 9:00 seniors, mostly because I'll probably want to enjoy a leisurely morning on my 1st full day in Vegas. Neither have great long structures, and devolve into short stacks with pre flop all-ins pretty quickly, but it serves a purpose for me to get acclimated to a live tournament and the environment of the convention center.

I arrive 7/23. I will leave out the $1600 Venetian event over the weekend of the 24/25th, but will play all the seniors and super-seniors days thereafter. Where there is a clash, I will go for the one with the highest entry level. That equates to 7 seniors events in all for me.

Only possible exception is on July 1st. The $1100 seniors at the Venetian clashes with Orleans’ $150 Razz tournament and I love Razz……

I don't know that you can generalize much about seniors players any more. Hellmuth is 58 and eligible to play.

Damn few super seniors can 4 bet you with 56 suited compared to bullet proof 20 somethings...LOL

Haha true, an old guy 4-betting usually has a premium starting hand. Sure, unpredictable aggressive play can make tight players uncomfortable, but I doubt most of the young guns 4 betting with 56 suited are actually making the correct strategic play against most players 3 betting with strong hands. They aren't going to get hands like TT-QQ or AK to fold, and just might face an all-in re-raise.

I realize that I may be relatively old and in the way (59) and not fully understanding the modern hyper aggressive style, but if my range is stronger than the LAG's range in a given situation, I probably am gambling with the best of it.

I'm a few months older than Hellmuth, so next summer I will be a baby faced 60 and eligible to play in Super Seniors events without all those pesky 50-59 yr olds! I'll enjoy once again being the youngest in the field. Kinda like in the 80s/90s when I was usually one of the only people younger than 40 in the poker room. LOL back then, the older players assumed that young people didn't know how to play well, but that got turned upside down after the poker boom.

I said the same damn thing in 2017 - I was going to be the kid at the table for the first time in ever LOL at the Super Seniors......... then the Bastards lowered the age from 65 to 60 for the 2018 event and ruined my plans and I just became another old fart

Are you from Ohio? Played in the Seniors the last year @ Rio, one of my tablemates was (jokingly) making the same complaint.

FWIW, the Seniors seems to be great value. Even a knucklehead, spectacularly average played such as myself can run up chips a little and make day 2. Assume SS is similar. Plus, it's a really relaxed atmosphere. A bunch of old people playing cards. Everyone's been through all the beats on both ends, I've never witnessed snark or bad sportsmanship. Just a fun outing.

Unfortunately, sometime late in day 1 all the players worse than me seem to be eliminated, so it goes downhill from there...

You've been fortunate then. It's definitely there, just not at your table apparently.

It's also difficult to get anywhere without some rungood.

I'm getting to Vegas 6/18/23 so sadly I will miss that day's Senior tourney.

Though the Wynn $5,000 looks tempting on 6/19 I don't do well there and its a lot of money so I think I will pass.

On 6/20 I'll warm up at the $400 MGM grand Senior tourney.

I will be doing the WSOP Senior and Super Senior and I like the Venetian Super Senior on 7/1.

As usual if I bomb out of the WSOP events I will play in whatever is offered in between.
