Every year I update my site with structure data from all the Vegas summer poker tournament series and calculate S-Points so you can determine how good/bad all the structures are. I don't want to hijack other threads or start a new one every year, so from now on I will just post here whenever I update my site with data from all the tournament series in Vegas every year.

I just uploaded the data from the 4 casinos that have released structure sheets:

https://www.rainbowspuppiessunshine....ournaments.php

As always, let me know of any mistakes I made, questions you have and links to the stragglers' structure sheets when they release them.

Thanks for the info. Very useful.

Comparing the $400 Colossus vs. $600 Deepstack, the S-points are very close. Rake percentage is higher in Colossus, but with lower entry fee and probably a larger, softer field, it is the better choice for me. I can fire a 2nd bullet if necessary, and if I bag chips on Day 1A, there is a day off before Day 2.

Do you have similar data for the WSOP $250 Daily Deepstacks? I would be interested to compare to similar priced tourneys at other venues.

The larger field is better for you?

Yes, because the larger field makes the prize pool bigger. Big prize pool for a relatively small buy-in is a major reason that I want to play. I can't think of any other way to potentially make a 6 figure payday playing poker for a $400 buy-in, and also have a decent chance at cashing a smaller amount. I expect the large field to include many poor players, and players firing multiple bullets, which puts dead money in the pool.

I just found the structures and added the WSOP Daily tournaments. 23 S-Points for the $200, 44 S-Points for the $250 & 25 S-Points for the $400

Also, I will do an over-all Hold'em comparison per price range once all the series release their structures. It's blank now, but it will be populated by 5/20:

Besides, it's more fun playing an event with lots of days.

What do you think it would take for rooms to provide s points for each event on their structure sheets? Also has anyone tried to determine tournament length based upon S points. Sometimes you may want to finish a daily in 6 or so hours (Southpoint) vs 10 to 12 (Wynn). As I think about it, that would be good info on the structure sheet also especially for the local dailies where they have a history to reference.

Mr OP, sir. I have a question regarding two $600 WSOP tournaments. Event #64 and event #81. Why such a difference in S points? 81 gives you double the starting stack. Are the blind structures that different?

Will jump in - Plog (OP), can validate, but yes.

#81 - 30 min levels (day 2 40 min level not applicable in the “Plog” formula)
Level 6 cost = 2,000
Level 10 cost = 5,000
Level 14 cost = 12,500
Level 18 cost = 30,000

#64 - 40 min levels day 1, then 60 min
Level 6 cost = 1,500
Level 10 cost = 4,000
Level 14 cost = 10,000
Level 18 cost = 25,000

“Last Level” from Plogs formula:
81 = 21
64 = 19

100% minutes for event 64:
17*40 = 680
2*60 = 120
Total 800

100% minutes for event 81:
21*30 = Total 630

The slower clock (40 min v 30 min), and the slower increasing blind levels (see 6, 10, etc. above), in conjunction with the “last level” and 100% minutes formula, definitely makes for a better structure for event 64.

Thanks. Cuz now I’m considering between colossus and event 64. According to Plog’s ratings, 64 is slightly better than colossus.
What about my question on late registering for a multi day tournament? Not a good idea?

Fair warning about event #64. I’m playing in it. I’ll be getting the bracelet and I believe 2nd and 3rd place were already claimed by a couple other people here. You can have 4th, though.

Since we're chopping now, I guess I don't need to even book my flight. Ok. I'm in.
