I was comparing structure of Reunion with 2019 Big 50. And the findings are shocking.

........................... Reunion..........................Big 50.

Buy In............ $500............................. $500 (No Rake for First Entry).

Guarantee....... 5 Mil............................. 5 Mil.

Levels ............... 30 Minutes day 1................50 minutes.
......................... 40 Minutes day2-3.
------------------BBA........SB- BB--------------BBA----------SB-BB
Leval 1..............200. 100-200................ 200. 100-200.
Level 8............. 1600. 800-1600............ 1600. 800-1600.
Level 12............4000. 2000-4000. ...........4000. 2000-4000.
Level 16............12000. 6000-12000............10000. 5000.-10000.
Leval 22............50000. 25000-50000...........40000. 20000-40000.

I think we will see wild paly Donkfest starting from Level 10 onward. Anyone has any opinion please share with the thread.

If someone late register in level 10, each orbit will cost 6000 Chips.
Level 18 each orbit will cost 50000.00 Chips !! Starting stack !!!

Yeah. I feel like this will play something in between the original colossus and the new colossus, rather than like the prior Big 50. As you undoubtedly know from some of my other comments, I am not a huge fan of super-slow structures for tourneys with this kind-of buy-in, but they could have probably made a somewhat less significant change and seen how it worked out. I would have gone w/ 40 min blinds throughout.

Big 50 was a unique event , the WSOP clearly said that , The Reunion is a totally different event I think the comparison between this 2 doesn't make sense.

I dont think good players do this. Its more a rec idea that you need to play differently (more aggro) in turbo structures.

Play each hand in the moment. You dont need to take a -EV gamble spot because "you need to keep up with the blinds" or some reason like that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you register via ACH/Wire, you don't incur any fees providing your bank doesn't charge any. According to their site, there may be a minimal fee of $3.

Looks like for the first time they will allow credit and debit cards for in person buy-ins.

Methods of payment for the required buy-in(s) for WSOP events are as follows: (1) cash, (2) credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express), (3) wire transfers or cashier’s checks drawn from the registrant’s accredited bank account and made out to Participant or Rio, (4) Rio gaming chips, (5) Rio Tournament Buy-In Chips, or Tournament Buy-In Credit (TBIC). Additional fees will be incurred on all credit/debit card/TBIC transactions. Participants using credit/debit cards must have a valid ID that matches the cardholder name present on the credit card used for the transaction. Addition of ACH to Online Registration: For the first time in 2021, players utilizing the BravoPokerLive.com online registration system to register and fund event purchases will be able to utilize their bank account to pay, via a domestic guaranteed ACH for U.S. residents, and a similar but slightly different method for International users. This method is commonly known as the “ACH” method of payment, as the funds come directly from a user’s bank account. This method comes with a 2.75% payment processing fee, along with a $3 per event transaction amount. (None of the extra fees go to the WSOP. They go to the service carriers providing these options.) Wire transfers, cashier’s checks and credit/debit cards/TBIC remain payment methods for online registration, with all transactions coming with a $3 per event additional fee and credit/debit cards adding 2.95%/3.95% depending on card issuer.

In 2019, the structures were made MUCH deeper than in prior years. This year they are being trimmed back a bit, but still are fairly decent. Here are the skill ratings for some selected events for 2021 vs 2019. The higher the rating the deeper (more skillfull) the structure.

For comparison, in 2007, a $1,500 NL event only had a rating of 14.93!
Now it is 54.37. The main event in 2007 was only 89 rated, now it is 201.64. Anything over 30 is still decent, anything over 40 is very good.

I played a $1500 about then. You got T1500 in chips. I got knocked out after about 6 hours of play on day 1, and still finished about 330th out of 1000. So I outlasted 2/3 of the field and still only made it 6 hours.

I'm not sure what rating formula you're using, but the MS essentially has two early levels removed. Hard to imagine that makes for such a drastic difference.

I am using the Poker Tournament Formula from a book by same name by Arnold Synder. The 1st 2 60 minute levels with no antes are removed for 2021. That makes a HUGE difference. In 2019 you started with 250 M value (total stack / cost per orbit (50,000/200)) but in 2021 it is only 100 M value.

Wow, that blows. It's not much better than the $1k double stack. It also means you probably can't make it into Day 2 just by late regging.

Looks like they got much greedier this year.

A 69 rating on the monster stack tournament is still a VERY skilled/slow structure. Anything over 40 is still very good.

I retract my original estimation that this will be bigger than Colossus. I’m guessing it will be closer to 65% of what Colossus was.

I think they will barely make the guarantee.

As per RedOak Reunion Skill rating is 50% lower than Big 50 . ( 29.59 vs 55.75 ). And I understand that Big 50 was one time deal. But if you compare just numbers to numbers, it will be shocking.

Here are some of my findings and Guessing. Please express your thoughts.

Let's examine some facts of Big 50 statistics compare to Reunion
(1),On average all flight of Big 50 played total of 12 level which equal to playtime of 600 minutes = 10 hours.
VS
Reunion will Play 22 level which equal to Play time of 660 Minutes = 11 Hours.

(2)Big Last level (12 th level ) was $4000-2000-4000. ( $10000 per orbit or 20% of the starting stack)
VS
Reunion 's Last Level will be $50000-25000-50000. ( 125000 per orbit or 250 % of the starting stack).

( 3) Big 50 , On average 22.50% of field left at the end of the day.,ith average chip count of $222000.
in my opinion with the skill level rating, I guess Reunion's flights will left with 15%-17% with chip count of $290000 to $333000.

I played Big 50 and made day 2. But it was huge slugfest in first 4 level of the 2nd day.
I think Reunion slugfest will begin after level 12 onward. If you are at the average or below average chip count at the end of the day , you will have rough time on day 2.

I'll take under 40%, given recent developments.

Dr.Meh and pig4bill Which colossus you are talking about ?

2015..........22370.
2016..........21613.
2017..........18054
2018..........13078
2019..........13109.

If I knew at the time (When I registered and booked my Air, Hotel and Car rental )what we know now about rules and little analysis of facts and figures I may have skipped the Reunion.

IMO it will still reach 12000 .

But I dont think it will be 65% or 40% of 2018 or 2019.

Yes 65% of 2017 will make WSOP happy

Over 7000 entries for days 1A and B. Most likely no overlay.
