Hey,

I'm planning to make my first trip ever out to Vegas for MTTs only. Once you cash for more than a certain amount, I think it starts at 5-10k, the casino withholds 30% of it and it's your responsibility to get it back from the US IRS. Can anybody confirm this and has done the whole process?

I do have an ITIN which should probably help?

Die ITIN wird das wahrscheinlich unkompliziert machen.
Allerdings habe ich gelesen, dass es da Änderungen gibt bzw. geben soll. Die ITIN soll verfallen, wenn sie mehr als drei Jahre nicht genutzt wurde. Dann müsste man neu beantragen. Das geht nur mit einem konkreten Bedarf und nicht prophylaktisch. Die WSOP hatte aber noch die Möglichkeit, das für einen zu erledigen.

If your country has a tax treaty with USA and you have an ITIN they won´t withhold anything.
