Greetings to all 2+2 poker forum users.

For those of you not aware I recently commenced as Executive Tournament Director for PokerStars.

The role will involve me being present as certain flagship PokerStars events including the upcoming EPT Barcelona, EPT Prague and one event I am very much looking forward to, the PokerStars Players NL Hold'em Championship at the PCA.

I will also be involved with key PS LIVE TD's in the process of setting of schedules and structures and have a say in any new innovative tournaments at established events or maybe even a brand new event on the PokerStars LIVE calendar.

Virtually all my poker experience has been in Asia Pacific so my EPT experience is a little raw having only attended EPT London and Prague, so Barcelona will give me a far greater appreciation of the EPT operation, capably lead on the floor by Toby Stone.

The Barcelona schedule has been finalised and leading up to and during the event I welcome any ideas/comments put forward by the poker community for our events moving forward, be it a certain structure of an event, a certain tournament type, feedback on the BB ante and use of shot clocks and/or an innovative idea you may have.

Items under discussion for EPT events beyond Barcelona include:
- Each EPT to have either an 8 Game or HORSE on the schedule
- Should one of the EPT feature events (not necessarily the main event) be a freezeout format
- Is there sufficient interest for an approx 1k buyin short deck holdem event

This is just a start. Players are welcome to post ideas/comments here or private message me on any thoughts. Note that there may be some questions/comments that will need me to experience EPT Barcelona before I can act on them.

I will also set up a thread for each of the PokerStars flagship events for comments specific to those. And note that the intention is to get lots of player comments on the type of structure and setup of the PSPC before we finalise all details of that event.

- yes, all major PS festivals should include mixed games events. The company name is not Holdem Stars but Poker Stars, right?
Not sure about the right format/buy-in... I remember a talk with players at EPT Berlin during a mixed games tourney, some wanted 2-day events, others will only play 1-day events…
IMO any buy-in between 300$ and 1000$ is fine, unless it's a turbo structure.
Maybe a 300$ 8-game is worth a try, you might have a bigger field.

- the Main EPT event should definitely be a freezeout

- have no opinion about short deck, sorry

A few questions:

- any news about PS festivals after Lille in July?

- PartyPoker started satellites with "live credits" to win… I think that's a great idea, any plans for "PS live credits" sats?

I really hope PS will announce more festivals for the fall/winter season.

EPT are great and Megastack a good addition but those festivals are the "extreme" ones, for high-stakes and low-stakes players. We really need a circuit for mid-stakes.


And nice to hear Live Crédits could be an option… I would love to see that kind of satellites.

Any plans for more PokerStars Festivals in New Jersey? Just a note that last time you had the series, the attendance was low, as the publicity was minimal and many players (incl. myself) only heard about events about a week prior and could not take the time off work/change plans at that point.

EPT Barcelona Cashier Question:

Can I wire Casino Barcelona €5000 a receive Chips for Cash Games. Also do they wire back to an account of my choosing once I'm done and decide to cash out?

Obviously I know that this is not a PokerStars question as Casino Barcelona run the Cash Games and have their own cashier. Just trying to skip the language barrier and obtain a quicker answer.
