Re: Phamous Poker Series GOLIATH 2017
Thanks for providing players an opportunity for feedback. I understand the challenges of trying to juggle estimated tournament field sizes with available tables/dealers, while trying to create signature events and appeasing different groups of poker players (high/mid/low stakes tournament players, PLO players, PLO8 players, mixed game players, etc...).
One suggestion is to borrow an idea from PokerStars when they create their schedules. (They have been using the model for a couple years with their numerous tournament series.)
1. Release a tentative schedule. Mark the PDFs etc... as "tentative requesting player feedback".
2. Solicit feedback (2p2 thread, twitter, etc...) for a couple days to a week.
3. Release a final schedule.
This helps to build a more customer friendly reputation for the poker room.
Examples from their 2016 WCOOP:

Re: Phamous Poker Series GOLIATH 2017
Thoughts on the PLO - PLO 8/B moving to first flights Sunday 6/18 at noon Monday 6/19 at noon and restart Tuesday 6/20 noon?
Also considering a 1 day PLO - PLO 8/B Thursday 6/22.

Re: Phamous Poker Series GOLIATH 2017
Chris consider either 10% or 12.5% for payouts (Ideally 12.5% or "1-in-8" across the board.) 15% is just too many people getting paid. Maybe only in the bigger buyin events where more people take shots.

Chris, I'll echo the other feedback by starting off and thanking you for input that you take from the players. As for the length and structure of the one day events, I think most players know they're in for a long haul if they make a deep run in one of these events. I was able to cash in back-to-back days last year and the length of play didn't both me as much as the 15% payout, playing that long for a 3X or 5X your buy-in was a little rough. I think you're on the right track by keeping the structure the same, or at lease close to the same, and paying out 10%.

I'll repeat a previous post...
IMO...
10% payout for tourneys with < 500 entries.
12.5% payout for tourneys with 500-1000 entries.
15% payout for tourneys with 1000+ entries.

Re: Phamous Poker Series GOLIATH 2017
Planning on playing a couple of the bigger NL events..
10% 1 day/12.5% multi day/15% main imo
Also agree with a bit flatter payouts.

Reason: Flatter payouts

Re: Phamous Poker Series GOLIATH 2017
I said this on twitter once or twice but these big $600 and $400 multi flight guarantees really don't have to be amazing structures on day one. You are bringing too much of the field back and people aren't busting fast enough.
I really don't see a problem just copying the WSOP circuit structures for these big re entries. The 365's and 580's usually bring back between 11-15% of the field getting to 3kbb which is a 9hr flight time. You can easily just play until ITM each flight and come back to the earliest bagging point. I have a lot of gripes with WSOPc events but their structures have never bothered me.
You can even do your own custom structure from day 2 on (maybe 60 min levels entire time instead of 40) that is better than the circuit if you want. But running two flights a day and bringing back the entire day 2 field ITM is a no brainer decision to me.

Agreed. And I believe none of the PH events have longer than 40 minute levels on day 1. 40-45 minutes is definitely preferred to 60, particularly for rec players.

TDChrisG -
When are you going to publish final schedule. I am particularly interested in the 5K PLO being moved earlier in the schedule.
Trying to plan my poker schedule and my day job.....

very soon, no major changes coming besides what's been discussed on this thread. No surprises coming...that said I'll advise that we will be moving the PLO High Roller to July 6th @ 3pm with the PLO High Roller Satellite moving to July 5th @ 7pm.
