Hey, so this is going to be my first year playing in the PCA and im somewhat debating whether it is worth it to play the qualifiers...I feel like $3800 for hotel is a bit steep and a second way to double rake over their $35 rake already part of the tourney.

Regardless, I am wondering if there is a discussion that starts off when people are travelling regarding sharing hotels. If i can get a share or alone hotel around <2k I'd rather just buy into the tourney and not play the packaged satellites.

Also, I notice all the tourneys collide with the ME...how do people play all of them?

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Bay View Suites last year. It is about a 20 minute walk to the tournament room at the Atlantis. You get a 1 bedroom suite that is double the size of the rooms at the Atlantis and you pay less than half the price (<$200 a night). Pokerstars will probably also soon be offering a special Early Bird rate for 9 night stays at the Atlantis where you end up only paying $200 per night

Also, you should probably ask your questions about PCA in this thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh....php?t=1467251

You can do what I'm doing and not go. The misery of being at that venue for X amt of days isn't worth me going, regardless of how good any of the tournaments are.

If you do, I'd suggest staying with someone if possible. if you win a package, try n get the upgrade for cove or reef (much nicer rooms, will cost u extra though). And perhaps become a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as the dining options late night aren't good nor cheap. Also, all the stores close by midnight so gl getting water for less than $10 a bottle.
