About 476 entrants and like 88 remained at the end of the night. there was a few problems with different staff members having different rulings on the same situations. And a dealer in the last level messed up a hand that stopped the clock for 20mins then made another mistake a few hands later. The new chips are nice but the 5k chip and the 100 chip look dangerously similar. Other than that it went smoothly. See you Saturday.

Matt - awesome job on this series! Yesterday, you had asked players to provide you feedback; so, here goes:

Pros:

1. Series is awesome, and the structure is simply incredible compared to other tournaments/ casinos in the vicinity (including Borgata).

2. I'm hoping that this type of series can become a seasonal event at Parx, such that we can play in similar tournaments in the Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter months - this really could become Parx's trademark series! I'm a casual player and I prefer playing such events per season over the daily donkaments!

3. The event was VERY WELL organized.

Cons:

1. A lot of players stated this yesterday - ideally, initial chip stacks should get blinded out at every table at the start of the tournament when not all players have showed up at a 9 or 10 handed table. This is something that I think would make the tournament an even playing field for folks who do turn up on time! Getting a full stack of 30K would make sense when players re-enter and that would be fine BUT at the start of the tournament, the option of blinding out late-comers/ no-shows ought to be considered by you/ Parx.

2. Some of the tables in certain sections were very close to each other; and, that didn't allow for a lot of movement/ comfort for some players/ dealers.

3. If such deep-stack tournament series can become the norm per season, I think it would be good if Parx can hold 1 monthly deep stack tournament such as the monthly one (350 + 50 buy-in) that the Borgata holds every month - this would allow casual players, such as myself, to come over once every couple of months to have a shot at some cash and figure out skills regarding deep-stack play before playing in the seasonal tournaments!

Nice job!

Played opening day 1a event at Parx and let me state this for the record: Matt and the Parx tournament staff are running a PHENOMINAL TOURNAMENT!!!!

Any issues I had I brought to Matt's attention right away and were addressed. He shows that he really cares about the players needs and suggestions(these days more of a rarity).

The structure as others have mentioned was fabulous -in fact it was so awesome that even with 3 or 4 levels remaining for the night you saw a bunch of people entering or re-entering.

Unfortunately I took a few shots and couldn't win key coin flips down the stretch so I didn't finish the night. However, I will be back today and have a feeling today will be much better for me - we will see.

Hope to see a nice crowd because if you are not at Parx playing this event, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time PokerOrNot. It's feedback like this, good and bad, that really helps us in our ongoing internal discussions on how to improve. Everything we do differently from the industry norm is always on a trial basis and in our effort to provide a greater experience for the players some of these things will and some will not work out. But you can be assured we are constantly evaluating and all I can promise is that we will be consistently improving and learning from our mistakes.

The latest local report estimates 1-3" at the most. Most of the big accumulation will be to the northeast. I think we will be fine.

You could not have asked for a better run tournament. Staff was EXCELLENT!

Long long day. I didn't want to wait in a line (not that there were any), so I got there at 6 am and played some 2/5. Made it to day 2 with 257,000, but that is 19 hours of poker.

Cannot wait for day 2. Hard to concentrate at work thinking about it.

Not a chance. In the Philadelphia area its only supposed to be cold enough for a couple hours of snow in the wee hours of morning. Mostly rain. Mountainous and northern regions will get a little more

Yep. I was in seat 5. I talk and talk and talk when i play poker. I was jabbering about playing since 6 am. I kept saying I was only going to play aces and kings. I think I literally have verbal diarrhea when I play.

Good luck on Saturday!! How many did you finish with?

Sounds great. I wish I could be there but with the storm hitting nyc, I will have to look forward to the next similar series. Matt has done a great job promoting this, and it sounds like he's got Parx poker looking at their best down there.

Interested to hear about the nearby accommodations, and if safety is an issue traveling to and from the hotels. I assume running to your room on breaks is impossible.
