He has 6 outs, you only have 2. He's a 3-1 favorite. Don't be ridiculous.

Instead people want to know my real name and then suggest since I am new I have no basis for a complaint. I am a very quiet poker player and person. The only reason I ever had to post on 2 + 2 came when there was extreme incompetence by a big casino in running a major tournament. And you think I trust to give you my name? 3+ Million in earnings brings lots of power and apparently no accountability so I do not want any trouble. Just tell everyone that finished 82-130 to come back an get what they earned.

Part of the integrity of tournaments lies in the basic understanding that 10% or so will be paid. If your mistake was worse possibly only 3% or 2% might have been paid and then for sure more people would be looking for answers. Also it was not hard to find a precedent as Borgata had a $300 buy in 2 weeks prior and got over 1200 so its hard to argue anything but very bad judgement.

If you would have admitted the mistake, maybe offered a free entry to a regular Sat tournament for those you should have but were not able to pay or something as a sign of truly being sorry then it would have been easier to understand. There is always going to be human error.

Sorry and forgive me because I am a good guy does not cut it. Mike Caro writes extensively on how being a god guy improves the bottom line. My usual buy in tournament is $200. So instead of having the next 3 covered I am dipping into my regular job. This is something I can accept if I didn't earn the $600 or so I would have gotten anywhere else in the world. I did my part and should never have to worry about if a very well off casino set things up properly.

Parx screwed up. Own it. Fix it now, not next time.
C'mon. This is real life, not some B-movie where Matt Glantz is the poker sheriff who has total power and can ban you from the poker community. The man is asking you to have a real discussion with him over the issue. It's a fair request.

If your bankroll took a hit due to this, you can always play smaller tournaments.

They're not going to "fix" anything, it isn't happening. You played under the same set of rules as everyone else in the tournament. The casino is not going to dole out thousands of dollars out of their own pocket just because you're displeased that you bubbled. If they did so, and paid exactly 10%, then what stops someone who finished just beyond the cutoff from coming back and citing some other tourney where they paid out 11%?

Not official #'s but looks like this series drew a total of 2,259 entries for a total prize pool of $1,374,300 over three events. Not bad !!

Summary:

BigStax300(150k GTD) - 1,361 entries, prize pool = $408,300
BigStax500 -(no GTD) - 381 entries, prize pool = $190,500
BigStax1,500(500k GTD) - 517 entries, prize pool = $775,500

Kudos to Parx for an excellent main event.

This was a fantastic structure, a nice flexible approach to rebuys and re-entries, and they did a good job concentrating some of their better dealers on the final two tables (which is not meant to say that the quality of dealers was poor otherwise, just that they paid attention and made sure they had the best for the end).

Well done...
