Thanks again for a great tournament (even if i didn't cash)!

We actually played an additional 19 mins into level 24 to get down from 28 to 27 players. This way we could do the final 3 table redraw to end the day and have a set 3 tables for the final day. No other reason than it just made sense.

For the Big Stax 300 all day 1s were 11am -12:30am and day 2 was 12pm - 3:30am. We can work on smoothing that out for next time.
11am- 12:30am is just about perfect.

I can even play several hours of ring action or pit games at that hour.

Ah okay, I hadn't actually done the math - I thought the late ending was due to the extra level I read about.

Perhaps a better plan might be to end the day after level 22 (~2 AM), simply return on day 3 with the same seating, and still wait until 27 players for the redraw.

Just my $0.02.

Really..... lol. i'm simply going to say Great tourney, great structure, great stuff. Love Parx and Matt. I am one who went up to Matt and asked why 81 played Late into day 1c before bagging and understood the reason. Why is that so hard to believe. As poker players we complain about everything.. lol

We ask for great structures and then complain about how long the days and other things. Will people like Jriiikk every be happy. What else do you want?

Enough from me. See you all on Day 2 500, I'm in............ lol

Looks like the $300 ended at 8:00 AM..... yikes

Matt/Ari the structures are great and it's obviously in part what's drawing the crowds. It probably makes sense to make these into 4 day events. You would then also be able to add a 4th Main Event (maybe a $750 or a 1K) into the 2-week mix providing plenty of overlap and keeping the multiple starting days so that there's always an event running and everyone who travels in will have something to play at any given time.

I think most people would be in favor of this as the alternative is compromising the great structures or playing never ending days. Tourney players have numerous destination choices so the more events they can play at a single venue the better!

Last suggestion for now..... the $500 obviously needed a guarantee. Slap any easily attained guarantee on a tourney and the masses will come. The small shortfalls last spring shouldn't concern you guys anymore.

don't add a 4th day, you are taking casual players out of it. it's one thing to take off a friday to go play a tournament series it's another thing to have to take off multiple days.

cut down the length of levels on day 1 and 2. 60 minutes and 75 minutes sounds good. There is still room for a lot of play with 60 minute levels.

Matt, I would actually suggest an August series. There are no major series anywhere in the nation in August. Slotting a series on the east coast in between the WSOP and the Borgata WPT Fall Open would fill a need IMO. Hosting a series in a month when so many people have vacation time to burn will also increase your casual player pool.

Matt - If and when will Parx get approval to play Razz so you can run a HORSE event?

agree 100%. Although as an alternate I would like to see a 2-day event as well maybe with a 30-45 min structure or something like borgata runs. 3-day events are tough for some people with young kids and/or jobs that also take place on the weekend.

Totally agree.. 45 minutes for day 1s and 60 for day two.. Maybe go to 75 or 90 after level 24 or something, but I honestly think 60 is plenty of time.. Those of us who aren't pro and have jobs and families most likely can't do 4 day tournies. The structure for this series is obviously awesome and hits all the levels but I think some sacrifice needs to be made next time around because of how long everything ran. I wouldn't be surprised if BS2 has a larger turnout from all the buzz this event generated.

There's a WPT at BestBet Jacksonville, FL in August.

My idea for day 4 would be for the final table only. It would only affect the final 9 players. I'm pretty sure that most would be okay playing a 4th day and being fresh if they made the final table. Just my .02.

this 4day idea stuff needs to go away. Everybody that started day3 was pretty content when we started. Tweak stuff....start day 2 at 11am, cut the levels some (maybe 60 or 75mins day2, then 75 or 90mins on day3).

In all honestly, day 2 actually ended quicker then most of us thought at the time. Between the quality of play between everyone that remained and the amount of BB's that even short stacks had, it was really hard to eliminate people.

It is clear that 4 day events do not fit the needs of our player base but managing the days to reasonable hours played certainly does.

I am constantly evaluating through each event and will surely improve this aspect for the next Big Stax series.

What they did in August for the prelims were 30 (or whatever) minute levels, and when the FT was reached they made it 60 minutes. Can definitely do something similar, or just have something like 45 mins for day one, 60 for up to the FT, 90 for the FT. Would assume that'd speed things up a decent amount and possibly put it well on track for the desired time.

You just proved my point of how stupid it is to have the Sat Feb 16th and Sun Feb 17th one day tourneys start at 2pm. That is outrageous, people will be playing until the sun rises. You have to start these at 11am like borgata.

Can you guys stop complaining about petty little things??? Jeez - Parx has put together tournaments at a reasonable price point that has the BEST STRUCTURES EVER SEEN for the buy-ins and you are still finding things to complain.

11:00 or 12:00, what the heck is the difference??? If you don't like it then I would recommend you play 1 day turbos so you won't have to play until the sun rises.

Also you keep bringing up Borgata - read their blog - some of their tournaments don't finish until 7 or 8 AM the next day.
