Really excited for this series - I spoke with Matt Glantz at the Harrah's WSOPc main event and he briefly went over the structures with me.

They definitely are GREAT!!!! It goes from 50-100 to 100-200 but we start with a lot of chips and it includes every other level you could want.

I mean - a main event with 50,000 in chips and great structures???? Can't beat it imo!!!

Thanks Matt

Do you think they'll put a $2-300,000 gtd on the $500 event? Seems odd that they wouldn't. Either way I'm stoked and can't wait.

Depends on the tournament but if I recall - $300 = 40 min levels(might increase after a certain level, not sure though)

$500 = 50 min levels but again, not 100% sure

$1500 = 60 min levels

Should be a great series!!!

From what my friend Joedeertay said after talking to Matt during the Fall Open, the earlier levels/days will be faster paced. The later levels will be slower time wise and blind wise if I recall correctly. Regardless, looks like a great series and I hope to play at least the $340 "bird".

We are doing something new and different for the Parx Big Stax. I started from scratch on these structures and this schedule because I have had some ideas for some time now how I feel tournaments should be designed looking forward. I can't get into specific dates or other details much until next week when we 'officially' announce. Series runs Feb 6-18.

The 3 main event buyins will be $300+30, $500+50, and $1500+100.
Multiple starting days - unlimited re-entry til end of Day 1s.
30k, 40k, and 50k starting stacks.
Structure is the same for all 3. 45 min levels on all Day 1s. 90 min levels day 2 and beyond. (Chainsaw approved)

I am looking forward to something new for you guys and think you are really going to enjoy it. I will put out a blog explaining everything along with the official schedule release as soon as I can.

Got a few hotel partners now with deals as low as $59/nt 7 days a week

Super excited about this series. Can't wait to see how it goes. Best thing Parx did was bringing on Matt to help out. A clear #2 in tournament poker behind Borgata in the area.... It's getting closer with every series. See you all there.

Still think its funny that people still believe just bc u get a lot of chips to start it has to be a well structured tournament. I could give you 100,000 chips to start but that doesnt mean anything. Usually tournaments that start you with a lot of chips have very little play in the end when it matters.

Luckily Matt has done a good job in designing these events with 45 mins on day 1s and 90 mins after. That is the key..not the starting stacks. We will see how they turn out but he has definately set them up for success.

I realize that but as I mentioned in an earlier post, Matt briefly went over the structures with me and they were excellent - with let's say 30,000 or 40,000 in starting chips - you can skip 75-150 level and still have lots of play relative to the big blind.

Obviously though, if we started with 30,000 in chips and the structure was like 50-100, 100-200, 200-400, 300-600, etc - that would not be so good.

100% agree, but it does had value as far as marketing and getting people there

Definitely thinking of playing in the "300 + 30" tourney! I'm really hoping for the schedule to be posted soon so that I can plan days off from work!

Really interested to see the tourney structures - blinds per level, durations of each level, and payout tables. The daily/ weekly tourneys currently at Parx are definitely missing specific levels which does result in major variance/ shove-fests early on...
