Hey Danny,

If you have never played at Playground before, here is the exact procedure for you.

If you buy in to Day 1B through partypoker, when you arrive at Playground you must first stop at the Player Services desk (just inside the front door on the left) and get a Players Card. This takes 5 minutes or so - all you need is any government-issued photo ID. If you've played at Playground before, but don't have your card with you, the process is the same - Player Services will simply print you a new card.

Then you will proceed to the cashier and provide your name and Players Card plus ID to the cashier, who will give you your seating ticket.

Depending on when that happens during the late registration period, you will either go directly to your table where you will be given a fresh stack, or you will go to the Tournament Desk where a TD will give you a seating card and a fresh stack.

Late reg is open until the end of the break following level 6.

In either case, if you want a copy of your receipt you can request that at any time.

I'm quite excited for this tournament. Please don't pay 20% of the field. Please don't make the last level of day 2 H4H.

Huh, I like the 20% pay for the field. When will the payout structure be released?

The result of 20% pay for the field is that a mincash is less than the buyin and if you get 17th you get back less than 5 buyins. Pass.
From the other millions tourney currently running: https://www.pokernews.com/tours/part...nt/payouts.htm

We're definitely NOT paying 20% of the field.

It will be very close to 10% of the total field including online and live flights.

We generally don't publish payout schedules in advance because we have 5 years or so of published payouts in events of all sizes people can refer to. I will try to get more information though - clearly people are interested.

Hey Mike,

I just won a $220 (165 USD) ticket for the grand prix. My question is what do I do now? I plan on being in Montreal for Saturday April 29th. Is there a way I can register at playground or do I have to pre-register online or how does that all work?

Thanks.

Sorry, I dont think I was clear enough on my first post. I have a ticket for a day 1. Played the $22 satellite last night and won a $220/165 seat. Can I just show up at playground and use the ticket for a live day1 or does it have to be used online?

Thanks.

Aha sorry yes that wasn't clear to me. I believe that the online Satellite seats have to be used online, and there are deadlines/expiry dates on those so I would check in your partypoker client asap and get that organized. The next online Day 1 is Sunday night.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but what kind of high stakes nl cash does playground typically get for events like this?

Others may have more info, but I think they have at least one VIP table running NLHE most nights during the series of at least 5/10, often 10/25, sometimes 25/50, and usually with straddles / double straddles and lots of action.

At busy times, I'm told you need $10k to get into this game. Sometimes they set up more tables on the stage area to get to 2-4 high stakes tables (some of which are PLO).

There are two VIP table private rooms, which also each have a dedicated HAF waitress dressed to impress :-)

there should be at least 1 if not 2 of both VIP nlhe (10-25+ usually with auto-straddle) and plo (5-10 sometimes with auto straddle or 10-25) running every day/night in addition to some 5-10nl running on the floor.

Just got an email from a partypoker marketing manager reminding me to use my day 1 ticket...

She mentioned that I can in fact register for a live day1 online so I just thought I'd mention that in case others were hoping to do this as well.

Cheers!

Awesome, thanks guys. Have never played here. What is the buy in structure at say 5 10 or 10 25 here normally?

31 entries, 12 made it to Day 2. Results available here: https://events.playgroundpoker.ca/sp...bined-results/ and if you click around the blog you'll find ongoing coverage of the Million North America and all events in the Spring Classic.

Apparently those figures are quite consistent with the results (in terms of entries etc.) from the recent Dusk Till Dawn Millions event.

If you pay 5% of the field their contribution to the prize pool (buyin was 5000+300 and min cash was 5000), the rest of the payouts are only reduced by 5%. If 17th would get 25000 without that 5% taken out, they still get 23750. Meanwhile a bunch of people get most of their buyin back instead of 0.

While this is true, I just wanted to repeat that 20% of the field is not getting paid.

Hi Mike,

Made it to day 2

Interested in what will the payout structure look like? 15% get paid?

Sorry if my message clouded the issue. I'm just entertained when people act as if paying a min-cash to a bunch of people is going to drastically affect the upper payouts.

When you guarantee a first place prize, the payouts at the top are rarely going to get affected, other than if you get into a scenario like Winstar where first becomes a disproportionate amount of the prize pool. As such, all of your mincashes have to come from somewhere. Below are the rough differences between the London prizepool from the Montreal one. Positive numbers are higher amounts for Montreal, negative numbers are higher for London.

Place Player
1 $0
2 $0
3 $0
4 $13,500
5 $15,000
6 $10,000
7 $10,000
8 $7,605
9 $10,000
10-11 $10,000
12-13 $10,000
14-16 $10,000
17-24 $10,000
25-32 $10,000
33-40 $10,000
41-48 $7,500
49-56 $7,500
57-64 $5,000
65-72 $2,500
73-80 $2,500
81-88 $0
89-104 $0
105-119 -$2,500
121-152 -$10,000
