One other possibility with Binions could be stepping up the poker game to go with the reopening of some of the hotel rooms. They have 80 or so rooms that are supposed to be opening in the next few months. Have not heard what price point they will be, but it has been clear across the past year that there are efforts being made to elevate the status of the property that are also coinciding with the other efforts to revitalize the downtown casino image.

Or not.

I hope they succeed, esp. as it's an historic establishment.

I will probably try one event there to see how it goes
I'm going to give them a shot for sure. Not much else going on first day I'm planning on playing there, and on second day there's lower BI event at same time (same game) at GN, so if they don't have it together (enough capacity/runners), then I'll just head over there and play.

It would be nice to see Binion’s return to some degree to its former glory. I spent a ton of time there during the few years I got to go to Vegas for most of the WSOP (2004-2010 or so) because my roommate liked to stay there on the cheap. Although the WSOP moved on, the room was still hopping for many years, but you could see poker gradually become an afterthought over time (especially when they walked up most of the old poker room for the hypnotist show!)

Nothing would bring me greater joy then seeing Binions re emerge. A very special place full of good memories. If they open the hotel I will surely book a room on my next visit. Love the downtown vibe.

Noted in the other thread, but first night available right now is August 14th. 99/nt Sun-Thurs and $199/nt Fri-Sat is what shows on calendar for the first few months. Got the reservations link by emailing to GM but it should be on website soon (if it isn't already).

Just wondering aloud , hopefully it stays there ; didn't care much for the middle of the casino location the year before.

119 entries for Venetian $400 PLO8, compared to 85 last year (both on Sunday before M-Day).

An early indication of predicted higher foot traffic this summer.
