Most tournaments are unlimited re-entry. You can also find structure sheets for most tournaments online.

Same question for the $240 O8 and Mixed Game tourneys at South Point.

Intel from anyone who has played any of those this summer would be appreciated. TIA
I recommend the aria tournaments in the $400-600 Range. I played 2 so far and found the play to be very rec heavy early. I’ve found those tournies softer than cheaper WSOP events.

What about the prize pools? How many entries do they get?

Pretty darn good. I played a $400 the other day that has 25k for first. The fields tend to smash the gtns. It seems the 50k’s easily hit 100k. If you like playing the first few levels, make sure to reg on time like 30’min before tourny as aria tends to have alternate lists. I signed up at 11:30 one day for a 11am start and had to wait 1.5hrs to play after bust outs.

Trust me with aria. They get a lot of rich recs. You wanna play on time if you can to see if you can get some of the dead chips from bad recs. The structures aren’t bad either. They are better than $400 wsop circuit events if you ask me.

Now that the 2023 WSOP schedule is out the other casinos should be busily preparing their schedules. I know its early but the sooner they publish them the sooner we can make our playing decisions and book those hotels!

You must be new to this.

I'm setting the over/under of all schedules (not structures) being published at 4/30/2023.

It wouldn't surprise me to hear that the Orleans gives this year a pass. They had a very hard time hiring staff last year.

No, definitely not new but always hopeful these casinos will get their acts together earlier some year. Last year most were in April and MGM not till May 5. If you only play no limit holdem there's probably no reason to care there's an event every half hour during June but for those of us who prefer mixed games this is our chance to play something different every day and places like Golden Nugget, Orleans, Venetian, MGM and South Point give you some good mixed games that don't all cost $1,500 and up. And not being able to lock in your schedule early means you pay more when booking in late April or early May. I understand the holdup is frequently finding enough dealers, just asking they do their best.

This would be tragic. One of my favorite outta the way places to play, where they still play like it's 2003. Plus, they have lots of mixed game tournaments.

Orleans has run a March series in the past and may be focused on whether they are doing that first. They've also had some turnover in their top-level tournament staff.

Their single-day Mardi Gras tournament and Fall Open were announced about a month in advance. Last year's summer series schedule was released on April 9.

Indeed, that would be disastrous.

I spent a large part of my stay at the Orleans last year, and I didn’t notice any issue with dealer numbers. A shortage of players is what did appear to afflict the Orleans poker room last summer though - they missed their guarantee on one of the multi-day NLHE events and then scrapped their guarantees for the remainder of the series. But they’ve run several festivals since then, and I’m very hopeful that they will be offering tournaments again this summer even if their guarantees are extremely conservative. The Orleans and GN are the cornerstones of my annual summer schedule and it would be horrific to lose either of them.

And quite a disappointment it is too.

They have upped the entry on a number of the mixed game events.
All the 200k for $200 multi—day tournaments are in the first part of the schedule.
The final 10 days or are largely consumed by their championship events @ $600 and $1100 to enter, with very little for lowballer types like me.

The first fortnight of the series looks very attractive, but unfortunately for me I can’t get there until June 24th, so I am gonna have to hope for better fare from The Orleans and MGM. Or a surprise resurrection of the PH series (v unlikely).

At least there are a couple of Seniors events on the schedule - that will fill some holes in my timetable :-)

I’m also disappointed in the Golden Nugget schedule. It all seems very ho-hum.

This actual feels good to me. Last year, they were taking something like $50 out of a $200 entry and also $50 out of a $250 entry and I recall several mixed game events that were priced at $200, so I would prefer it if they increased the entry fees and took a lower percentage on these tournaments.

Are we really going to use this thread when 7+ pages are about last year? Doesn't really matter to me, but I thought it made sense to start a fresh one for 2023.

As for the GN, inflation is hitting everything. All venues are gradually moving up. The Wynn daily used to be $140. It's been $200 for a while.

The lowest daily deepstack at the WSOP went from $150 to $200 last year. The price of poker is going up, Vince.

I'll be in town for the Monster Stack in mid June. Nugget is offering a $300 mystery bounty with gobs of flights that weekend, which looks like a fun option if can't bag for day 2 of the Monster (or if I bust early-mid day 2). I haven't made it out to the Grand Poker Series since 2018, partially because the stakes are so low that a Lyft both ways represents a lot of your EV. Good chance I will play a flight or two of that mystery bounty though. Looks like a fun event.
