I wouldn't walk that in June. Shuttle hack it---

Free shuttle goes: Orleans - High Roller - Gold Coast. Rio is right across the street from Gold Coast.

Or if you don't have a Bugatti Veyron, somewhere around 10 minutes. The Rio is on Flamingo and the Orleans is on Tropicana. There's a free shuttle from the Gold Coast.

10%-ish. They don't use the WSOP format. That's how it was last year anyway.

No, that's why I asked; more like 13-14 % last year and sometimes it seemed to vary a little larger. I just wasn't sure what they were doing when Ichecked the Hendon Mob. I hoped it would be lower since I don't remember any info last year.

The rake is quite a bit higher this year on the Seniors event if $335+$65 is correct. It was $350+$50 last year.

Its not a short walk during any weather .Best is to head out the Series door down the steps and pick up your ride share or cab.

I hope it's different this year, but last years dealers in the HORSE tourney at Orleans were very subpar. The mixed games at low buy-ins are great for us recreational guys, but not sure if it's worth it is dealers dont know how to deal games, nor know the rules

For what it’s worth, the dealers in the HORSE tourney I played there last summer were competent.

It's probably at 1 pm because at 11am is the restart of the previous day's event.

I've played a the Orleans many times and especially the Horse tournament and have found the dealers to be superb. The dealers at the Orleans , in my estimation, are tops in Las Vegas .

Another thing, if dealers are working the Horse or other similar tournaments the Orleans, by far, is the only room in Vegas offers this type of tourney on a regular basis and I would expect and do confirm that their dealers are a most experienced and capable group.

For balance, it could be that dealers were hired during their summer series on a part time basis but I played during the summer series without a hitch.

Last year they were victims of their own success, and just overwhelmed by the number of entries. They hired every competent person that applied, but since they had not run a summer series the years before, I think nobody knew about it. It was bad last year. I showed up at tournament start time and was an alternate because they were short dealers.

They should get more applicants this year.

Good to know. I will add that the '15 or '16 event at the Orleans had great dealers. Perhaps last year I just got an unlucky draw or they had to replace some dealers for whatever reason. Either way, I'll be there this year.

Last year they ran concurrent to the WSOP and all the other summer series, so the dealer pool was much smaller. Prior years it ran in May.

Gotta say I'm disappointed with the changes to the SPT senior national championship at The Orleans. I loved it last year, but the structure this year is rated at only 56 S-points, versus 59 S-points for the $150 daily Orleans NLHE summer tournaments. Even though their early promo said it would have 45 minute levels, it actually has 30 minute levels on day one and then 45 minute levels on day 2. The rake also increased to $335+65 versus $350+50 last year. Big blind ante also new this year although that's fine with me.

Thanks for the post. Not at all impressed with the blind structure. A much glorified donk event.
