Went to the 3 Michelin Star restaurant "Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester" with two friends. We all agreed it was best meal we've ever had.

It ran to 320gbp per person (500usd) for 7 course degustation menu + matching wines, but it was definitely a great experience.

Definitely suggest it to the food degens. www.alainducasse-dorchester.com

If any of you guys have been anywhere else good post here!

Are there any special rates for booking the Hilton Metropole during EPT?

The Metropole isn't a great hotel and is no way worth 2068 or anywhere near it for a week.

Only if you are super rich and don't care for walking a tiny distance should you consider paying this price.

There are loads of alternative hotels within easy reach of the venue.

Yes, see http://www.epthotels.com for rates. But it's full September 20 + 21.

How much do you pay for a good hotel for 1 week? I don`t want a super expensive one, just a good clean one.

Planning to go to London in 2 months.

Interesting you say that! The Dorchester has had some fairly poor reviews for having an atmosphere too stuffy etc. Am by no means any expert, but had a fantastic meal at The Square which I can recommend - nouveau French cuisine but a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff as well as incredible foot (tasting menu with wine pairings ran out just shy of 200 a head). There's a michelin starred curry house called Tamarind which I think we all agreed left something to be desired but crops in at the relatively cheaper 100 mark.

Ya the Indian had very high quality ingredients and none of the food was very spicy, it was basically very western style mod Indian, and it wasnt that expensive.

Went to some restaurant nextdoor that was somehow tied in to Ramsay but was some female chef's restaurant, called "Marano", apparently that has 1 Michelin star although we didnt notice at the time. Was also very nice, but again not mindblowing.

London does seem to have very good restaurants though.

The best restaurant in London at the moment according to a friend of mine who knows about these things is Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley. About 150 a head if you're looking to splash out.

The Grosvenor Victoria "The Vic" on Edgware road is where most of the big cash will be.

So far the 10/25 NL has been running, 5/10 PLO and 75/150 Mix games.

It will get bigger soon.

The Landmark and The Dorchester are the best hotels within a mile of the Vic. Both will be expensive though. Also Montagu Place Townhouse for a boutique hotel.
