We are returning to Madrid in early March! Below is the schedule.
After talking with the players over the first part of the season, we have added a couple of new events to the schedule for the latter half of EPT8.
PLO Turbo Bounty - We've had tremendous success with the 1K+1K NL Turbo Bounty on Day 1B, so we have added in a PLO version on Day 1A.
Last Chance Turbo Super - Many players have asked for some kind of last chance Super, so we added in a 1K Turbo last chance on Day 1A.
Win The Button! - WTB was a great success for 1K at the PCA, so we are going to roll it out for a larger buyin trial on the EPT.

All of the 10K NL's have run in two days so far. Only 2 of the 14 we've run have come close to running over. It is close now that they are almost all pushing 60+ entries and we may look to make them 3 day events in EPT9, but we are confident they will finish in Madrid, Campione and Berlin. The Grand Final will be a three day €25K like the PCA.
Hi all didn't make it to Madrid last year but going this time. I remember reading that the casino was well outside of the city centre? Like 45 mins or so is this correct? I received an email from epthotels and saw there were some cheap hotels near the casino and some expensive ones in the city centre.
Would you advice me to take a cheap hotel near the casino or one in the city centre? Seems like a hassle to take the shuttle every day, but I also don't really wanna stay in some random hotel next to a highway with nothing to see or do and no restaurants except for in the casino etc
Until approximately what time at night will the tournaments run until (mainly, the main event and the 10k)? Does 'one reload' mean up to one rebuy for 10k or something else? And if you know, what can we expect from the side cash games, as far as highest stakes likely to be available, mostly PLO or NLH, and rake structure (is the rake capped or uncapped)?
Main Event - Day 1 and 2, around 9pm. 8 levels no dinner on 1, 6 levels no dinner on 2. Day 3, down to 24 players and Day 4, down to 8 players. Both of these are also around 7-9pm although the down to 24 day can go long. We will take dinner on either of those days if it looks like it will be required.
10K - Will play until around 1am on Day 1 and until finish on Day 2. The "reload" is something we tried for EPT8 to help the event grow. It isn't a rebuy as you get a brand new seat and it isn't a re-entry as we aren't juicing the second 10K for this season. So we call it a reload.
Cash - Mostly NLH and PLO. I've emailed the casino to see if they have changed their rake, limits, etc... from last year and will post when I get a reply.
Any news about the shuttles from casino to madrid centre? Do they keep driving untill all tourneys are finished for the day or only untill a certain time. How often would they drive etc.?
Still hesitating between booking a hotel close to the casino or somewhere in the city. Prefer the city but don't want the shuttles to be too much of a hassle or spend 100€ a day on taxis
Found this on the epthotels site: POKERSTARS OFFERS A FREE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE EVERY 10 MINUTES FROM 10am UNTIL 04am. DEPARTURES FROM THE HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL MADRID.
Booked a very cheap room through booking.com for 175€ for 5 nights total in travelodge las rozas (3stars). Looks decent enough and it's few km away from the casino http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/trav...98cX1;logout=1
Thanks, Neil, I appreciate the thorough responses. Looking forward to hearing about the cash games, and if they don't respond, if you could just let me know what the structure of the games were last year (and I'll take it with a grain of salt) that would be great.
Rented a car as well and staying in a nearby hotel.
I did this last year too and I think it is by far the best thing to do for this tournament.
