They’re not running a 20k field event. But they are running what I imagine will be the largest $1k field in history and one of the largest fields in the series. I wouldn’t expect quite the level of chaos as the Big 50. But it will be pretty chaotic unless they have improved their logistics compared to 2019.

Some quick math. Last year's $500 Housewarming event drew 20,080 entries at 11.2% fees, which comes to $1,124,480. This year's Mystery $1,000 Mystery Millions is the first big event in the series, with 4 flights. Fees are 7.7%. To make as much as the Housewarming, they would need 14,600 entries. The same event last year was held late in the series and drew 14,112 entries. I agree, I don't think they'll have any problem surpassing 15k entries into that event this year, and making a good deal more money from it than they did from the Housewarming.

I also think it's smart of them to start with this as the first huge field event before they get to the $300 Gladiators, as it gives them another week to get additional employees there and gives all of them a warm-up before what could easily end up being the largest field they've ever had. With that low a price point, they should attract a large number of first-timers, but it also encourages multiple re-entries. I bet they blow past 30k for that event and set a new record.

Best time to visit the cage is after 10 pm. Most people have busted their tournaments and are out of the building by then. Very easy to get your tickets at that point.

Would never wait until the day of the event unless I had no other choice. Lines can get crazy around start time.

The thing I have to worry about with that is that route 93 N of Wickenburg and the stretch of I-40 to Kingman is filthy with nasty and even dangerous potholes. C'est la vie.

+1.

I think $1,000 Mystery Millions (Last year’s surprisingly highly Successful new event) and $300 Gladiator ( A new lower price point crowd drawer) scheduled and bundled for opening week will brake all time record for attendance and chaos.

If you are attending any of those 2 , a pre- registration is must to avoid any chaos and madness.

I haven't really studied it so I'm not sure how it works, but I doubt they will get 15k. A grand is a lot for a non-serious person to put up, and it sort of eliminates the chance of more than one bullet. If it was $500 they could play 2 bullets for the cost of a single Mystery entry. Besides, they could just wait a week and play the Gladiators for much less.

There are 4 flights, and tons of people gonna fire lots of bullets. Not gonna have a shot at a milly in the Gladiators.

My summer tourney budget is around 15k and I was def considering working around that week and firing it every day, but the week ultimately didn't work.

People won’t see it that way. They’ll figure all they need to do is earn at least one bounty to potentially win a million bucks. They don’t have to be the best player and they don’t have to win the whole thing for the seven figure score. Just one bounty and if they bust out, they still might get a big score. Whereas a $500 tournament would require them to take the whole thing down which is a significant long shot.

Good info here! I normally would buy in around 6-7am last year just to beat any sort of rush- less cashiers at early morning hours but at least I avoided the big lines.

One thing I hate- if you play a tourny like the colussus and bust early- you are kinda screwed- it’s wait in a super long line or don’t fire a 2nd bullet in a soft huge field mtt with a solid structure for the buy in. I feel wsop should allow you to somehow buy extra bullets early and just get a refund if you don’t use them or use funds for other mtts. There should
Be a way where a player doesn’t need to wait in a 200+ person line to Re enter a tournament . Last year I would have fire 2-3 more bullets but no way I’m waiting in that goofy line for a tournament.

I can only found a list of bounties 1-50 . 50th place bounty paid $25000.

There were 14112 total players. 827 players made day 2 .
So there were 827 bounties.

Does anyone knows brake down of bounty pay out ?

Does anyone knows what was minimum bounty?

I read somewhere that minimum bounty this year is $10000 !

But not sure .

Last year's Million Dollar Bounty (same event, different name, held much later in the series) had 14,112 entries. They should easily have 15k this year.

Last year's event came close on the heels of the delayed 2021 series, was the first in a new location, there were significant concerns about staffing, and some people were still reluctant to travel and spend days in a crowded room indoors due to Covid. International travelers flying in had to show proof of vaccination to get into the country. Yet they still had huge crowds for all the big events. With all of those concerns either gone or greatly diminished this year, and poker as popular as ever, I'm betting the 2023 WSOP will see records fall all over the place. The total prize pool for this first big event could well be the largest ever, Gladiators could be the largest field ever, and I'm sure they'll have the largest Main Event field.

I can't wait!

The million dollar bounty is a super long shot but even the min bounty of $10K is your ticket into the bucket list Main Event. Of course you have to be in the top 6% to even make it to the day 2 bounty action. This tournament has much more appeal than a 'plain vanilla' tournament costing half as much. There's no comparison.

BTW, I registered for it just after 5 pm PST yesterday but it looks like Bravo / WSOP is offline again now.
9:43 am PST update: it is now live again!

This is exactly what the BRAVO kiosks are for. Use your BRAVO acct. to rebuy, go to the kiosk and print your ticket. No waiting in line.

This, but with the caveat that you may have to wait in a seat card line, but those move a lot faster than the buyin line, and if you don't use the kiosk you have to stand in both.

Regarding registration lines at different times, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a short line at about any time, with the possible exception of like 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. While there will be fewer people registering later in the afternoon and evening, there will also be fewer tellers. Put yourselves in the WSOP's shoes, and realize that any time there is no line for registration, they're paying employees to wait around. They're going to aim for having a line of some kind at all times, and they'd rather be wrong with fewer tellers and a longer line than too many. They have years of experience trying to estimate how many they'll need at different times based on the events starting that day and the next, so they're not too bad at it. Of course you should still try to avoid the couple hours before a major event is starting as they'll have capacity issues with the number of windows available even if they're able to staff them all.

I registered in person my first trip to the WSOP, and last year decided to pay the fees to register online with a credit card. It was worth every penny and I'll certainly do it again this year.

I paid online last year for the housewarming and I can assure everyone standing in the ID verification line is a much better experience than standing in the registration line. was like 15 minutes vs who knows how many hours.

Anyway, My brother and I are signed up for the Friday flight of the gladiators tournament.
