Events with multiple starting flights will be clearly listed that way on the schedule on WSOP.com (day 1A, day 1B, etc).

DeepStack Championship is a single flight tournament. They will play down a little past the money on day 1. Day 2 will play down to the last few tables. Day 3 will probably play down to the winner.

Would guess that the seniors will be mostly the same.

Only a handful of events at the WSOP have multiple flights (Mystery Bounty, Gladiators, Milly Maker, Monster Stack, Colossus, Main Event, 777, and maybe 1 or 2 others). It's generally just their big featured weekend events that have multiple day 1s.

Consecutive 4 day events.

I would encourage you to avoid the Deepstack Championship. I’ll be playing in it and winning the bracelet. So unless you’re fine settling for 2nd place, you should probably avoid it.

Fortunately you only have to do the id check once per year, but that may not help you for this event.
Last year a small room across from the general registration was used for ID verification. I went in the late afternoon last year and there was no line, and I only ever noticed short lines there as I passed by over the next couple days. It takes very little time, and they'll print out your seat card for your first tournament for you as well, so no need to go to a kiosk after you're done. I brought cash and waited in the long registration lines in 2021, so last year I thought I'd try the credit card route. For me, the credit card fees were worth all the time I saved not having to wait in those lines.

It really comes down to your preference, your tolerance for long lines vs tolerance of the extra fees and your flexibility for when you can register. If I was coming in to play one event, and arriving the day before, I'd probably go register in person in the evening and save the card fees.

I think the ID verification gets hairy at the start of the series for those huge events. By the time the Monster Stack rolls around it shouldn’t be too bad. But I have learned not to assume anything when it comes to logistics at the WSOP.

Re: ID check at WSOP. They don't know what a Global Entry card is. I carry it even when traveling domestically, as it makes going through TSA a breeze (or, at least, less of a hassle). Ofc, I had my DL as well, so got checked in.

For those that might not know, it shows the US government considers you a trusted traveler. Means you go right through TSA and (even better) customs & immigration upon arriving back in the US. Was a bit surprised that this federal ID was something they didn't take.

I would be fine with that, but do you really think anyone can beat me heads up? I can't recall ever being beaten..

So to summarize that pokernews story, the WSOP announced that online registration starts this Thursday, the 13th.
Thanks for posting that.

Are we able to deposit cash in our WSOP Tournament Buy In Account at the Paris Main Cage starting April 13th? And/or are we able to verify our credit card there starting then too, or do we have to wait to do these until May 30th at the Champagne Ballroom?

I would guess you have to wait until May 30th to confirm with bravo as I doubt the main cage would know anything about it.

Is there any advantage to registering this early? My plans are pretty firm, but I'm wondering why I should register in April or May for an event in mid-June. Does it impact table draws in any meaningful way? Has an event ever sold out more than 48 hours beforehand? Is there any compelling reason not to wait until a couple days before my trip to register for my first event?

The only thing I noticed about early reg is you almost always get a table in an area that doesn't break early on. If thats important to you. Of course, this was when the WSOP was at the Rio. How that works with the move to Horshoe/Paris I am not sure.

In the WSOP press release it said this, but I guess I am not completely sure what they mean by it:

"In-person registration is also now available at the main casino cage inside Paris Las Vegas."

If it somehow means that I can go down there early and load up my Tournament buy-in account that would be great.

Do they allow people to transfer money from their wsop.com account to a Tournament Buyin account?

I asked someone that question in February and they said probably not this year, but hopefully some day.

There's this message that goes with online registration, related to having the funds 'cleared' in time:

"For those that register and send payment online (meeting the deadlines required), you will reduce time spent at Paris waiting in line. For those waiting until the last minute, online registration might not be a suitable option. A credit card is the only option available until the end of registration for most events. It is important to note there are three ways to pay for your Online Registration Buy-Ins:

Credit Card - for buy-ins $10,000 and under only. Accepted card payment types include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover & Diners Club.

Once a credit card has been verified for WSOP 2023, this same card can then be used for online registration until the end of the WSOP.

ACH – for buy-ins $10,000 and under only (no waiting period required).

Wire Transfer (requires registration and funds wired at least 14 days prior to the event's start date)

Cashier's Check In-person only, at least 5 business days prior to the event date. (For instructions please email: wsopfaq@caesars.com)"

I don't think Bravo supports the Cashier's Check option anymore. I think even a Credit Card payment takes a day or two to be processed and 'clear'. Why wait for the last minute if your have a specific event/flight planned? I guess the downside to registering and paying early is that something comes up that prevents you from attending the WSOP and playing. Then it could be a hassle to get a refund.

I am confused by you statement. You can register and pay via Bravo starting on the April 13th. The WSOP press release also said that the Paris main cage will also accept registration and payment in person for WSOP events starting April 13th. After registering/paying early online or in person you do have to verify your identity prior to an event in order to use the kiosks to get your seat tickets.

True, but for some unfathomable reason, they aren't running a 20k player event early in the Series. Apparently the WSOP has tired of making money.
