I know it probably would have been cheaper a month ago and I understand the people who have actual gambling credits will get better rates. But it seems shaving a couple bucks off the normal rate for a Diamond is kind of like a kick to the groin. Glad I don’t have resort fees but someone showing $18/night vs $82/night is pretty extreme.

Pricing without logging in shows my “discount” is about $5/night. Plus saving on resort fees but still. I expected much better.
Dr Meh you can look above and see my own posts on pricing history

Originally I got the room at the Horseshoe (Ballys} 6/20 - 6/30 departure including taxes for $422 and I rebooked later $373 same time period and room. Now if i go online this is my pricing

It looks like they added a $1500 badugi event. Event #20. I think this is the first time there's ever been a budugi event. It's my favourite game, I think I'll go to the WSOP just to play it.

FWIW, I also plugged in those dates and my total was $134. If I include 7/1 then the total is $228.

I'm Platinum with 5,235 Tier points and 22,632 reward credits. My tier points and reward credits are a combination of playing poker at Harrah's and credit card usage since January.

I just tried it on another device just in case it was a browser cache issue on my phone.

Nope. Same prices. I’m guessing they just don’t like me yet since I’m new to Diamond.

I wouldn’t go by anecdotal evidence of rates from other people. You don’t know what their whole story is. As has been mentioned, room rates don’t really have to do with your tier status. They have to do with how far the hotel is willing to go to entice you to come gamble. If they have a history with you as a gambler, they are more likely to give higher discounts. If they don’t, maybe they will lower prices during low demand. But I imagine demand is fairly high right now with lots of people booking for the WSOP. Just watch the rates over time. They have a tendency to come down as the event gets closer.

I can understand the Platinum vr Diamond difference probably comp days I get with Diamond but Dr Meh You have the same Diamond status so it makes no sense why you are getting such a much higher rate. Are they quoting you NO resort fees at least ? You definitely should get a non weekend comp day or two ...... try calling direct to the Casino and see what they can do for you. Good luck !

Yes, I’m at least getting no resort fees. I thought about calling them but I’ll wait a couple more months to see if the rates drop.

If you live near a caesars property it makes sense to go fire some $5 a hand video poker for a day and then wait a few weeks and book then.

In my experience, chasing “perks” through gaming is a really -EV play, especially as perks are getting watered down. I mean, if a person gets something else out of gaming, like entertainment or whatever, then by all means, go for it. But otherwise, it’s like lighting money on fire, which is an odd thing to do when one is trying to lower their costs.

Get the best deal you can, of course. But there’s a reason casinos make the profits they do.

so if you have the basic free caesars rewards card, but not the credit card, can you get either of these tier points or reward points just by booking a room under your account? how many nights would you have to book to start seeing any substantial payback in terms of room comps or discounts on rooms?

Alright, I’m finally seeing some small price fluctuations.

Yesterday the price was up a bit. This morning, it was down a little. So I cancelled my old reservation and rebooked.

Total went from about $380 to about $340. Not a great savings but $40 is $40 so I’ll take it.

I plan on continuing to check and hopefully find it for less.

Just to be clear, I get the deposit back after cancellation, right? I want to make sure I’m not getting billed $50-60 every time I cancel the reservation to save $40.

No really sure how the comps add up based on booking at hotels, but there's a long thread on hotels, prices, comps, etc at https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...thread-1202783 that might help

The hotel room price algorithm Caesars uses is a mystery, to be sure. But I doubt you will get comps or discounts just by booking nights. Those things typically are based on your gambling rating (how much/how long you gamble)

You will get tier and rewards credits for your booked rooms, as well as spending in a number of other categories. However, I believe you have to book through the Caesars website, as opposed to a third party booking site. Details about earning points can be found here:

Believe they refund everything, provided your reservation isn't non-refundable, which would not be the norm.

Just takes a few days to hit the bank statement.

I rebooked once already. They charged a new different deposit and my original paid deposit was credited back to my card 2 days later.

Both 2022 and 2021 had 10 AM and 11 AM 1st event of the day starts just depending upon the event. The old fart events Sr and Super Sr always start at 10 AM and the Main at 11 AM in the last several years to be sure. Before that the main started at Noon as I recall.

Not sure if this is new, but when I just checked on room rates on the Caesars app on my phone (just installed it), it said that they now offer booking flights and rooms together. You can also obviously do this from the Caesars rewards website.

For just over $600 (not including taxes and fees) I was able to get a round trip flight on United from Newark to Vegas plus 10 nights in the Horseshoe (Jun 20-30). For the same round trip flight alone from United, it was just over $500, so that would be just about $100 for the hotel for the 10 days. And for what it's worth, the weekend of June 23-24 are the most expensive weekends for all of June and July at the Horseshoe, at least for the prices I'm getting, so if you're looking for other weeks it should be cheaper.

The flight selection when booking both together was more limited, so I'm assuming that they're trying to unload the less popular flights. But if you're flexible on the time of your flights, you may be able to get a good deal by booking the flight and hotel together through Caesars.

Sounds very good but,I don’t see on app to book with air ticket. Will you be more specific when on the app ?

2021 and 2022 (and earlier):
10AM for the big events. Milly maker, monster, etc bc they played longer.

11AM for main and the regular weekday events.

2023:
Now its 10AM everyday.

And 2PM for the afternoon/mixed events vs 3PM without a dinner break.

Yet the main this year is 12pm instead of 11AM, go figure.
