I just actually did this earlier this morning. For my ungodly rate on an April return flight. They (SW), do make that part super convenient and easy.

If you pre buy this 1k bounty is your stack in play from the start if you are late or do you check in and get a full stack?

If I recall correctly, last year this was based on whether the event had multiple Day 1's or not. If it wasn't a multi-flight event, your stack would be in play from the start if you pre-registered. For the big multi-day-one events you would start with a full stack whenever you took your seat. I haven't the foggiest idea why there was a distinction, and I have no idea whether the same thing will apply this year or not.

Of course you start with a full stack. This tournament doesn't become a bounty tournament until day 2 and only 6% will advance to day 2.

It is too early to book for summer flights at least for domestic flights from hubs.

They keep prices high so they can capture all the revenue from "early" worms. Once it gets closer, they'll start price adjusting via their data.

Go to www.wsop.com/reservations and check it out. Will get the WSOP promo rate which I assume is the best rate.

Don't assume that. I get much better rates with my standard Caesars member rate than with the WSOP promo codes.

If you have a decent history with Caesars properties, they're likely to kick out a better rate for your account than the WSOP promo code offers.

Sadly DogFace is spot on. You might reasonably think WSOP23 is special but it has been my experience it really isn't.

Are you sure? It used to be that it expired after a year. I had a lot of flight credits expire.

It shows on Southwest’s website that after 7/28/2022, travel credits no longer expire. I looked into that after reading that comment because I always remember them expiring. That’s huge because you can always rebook lower without worrying about losing your credit now.

Booking a domestic flight for June or July right now is crazy. Generally speaking, airline tickets are cheapest if you book them three weeks before the flight (obviously with a huge amount of variance).

My advice to people looking for the cheapest flight is to be flexible. Don’t be tied to one airline (if possible). Allow yourself to fly on different days or different times of day. Waiting to 3 weeks out is probably better than booking far ahead, but you always run the risk of having less to choose from when it comes to seats/flights etc.

Airlines have gotten really good and changing their pricing in response to demand… both actual purchases and even just people searching for flights. Think of it like this, the moment the WSOP announces their schedule, people start looking at flights to Vegas. Demand goes up for those flights and airlines raise theirs prices accordingly. Now, the WSOP may not drive demand to the extent of say, the SuperBowl. But it doesn’t have to. Everything is electronic and monitored precisely. The prices only come down when demand comes down.

Btw, it’s probably not a topic for this thread, but I saw an article recently explaining how the airline industry makes more profits from their loyalty programs and co-branded credit cards, than it does transporting people from one place to another. Think about that. It’s kind of messed up and goes to show why the industry seems so disorganized. They simply haven’t figured out how to fly people around very efficiently in a hundred years.

Ah yes I see that now thx... For the super seniors which is a $1K event, is that 7.7% for entry fee plus 3.3 for dealers and staff, so 10% total. is that subtracted from the 1K or added to it, ie making the entry $1100?

WSOP entry fees are always exactly as listed, so it would be $1000 with 11% of that going to rake (7.7 + 3.3 = 11).

Just booked my room at Horseshoe. Only going for four nights but it still cost me $380 with Diamond status. Did I do it wrong? Seems like it should be cheaper with Diamond.

Your quoted rates are not based on your tier status, but rather on your gaming rating. If you don’t gamble, they don’t give steep discounts.

You might check the rates with the WSOP discount code applied. It gives a 10% discount over standard rates. I’d be surprised if it were lower than what you were quoted, but it might be worth checking.

Anyhow, are you going over a weekend? Weekend rates are usually much more expensive. I have been quoted some weekends at $125+/ night for fri/sat and I gamble.

Sounds little expensive. I booked with diamond 10 night’s starting from 5/31 for total $408 .

And I thought that was high too !!
