The sandwiches are basically gas station sandwiches. The sandwiches at Starbucks, etc are better, and Subways are miles better, as sad as that sounds.

Only two flights for the Colossal? Are they going to set up a thousand tables?

Yeah, I don't want to be snobby/picky (yet I probably am!) but the sandwhich from CVS, dear lord!

Wow !

If they want a record breaking ME , must spread location to 3-4 hours of driving destination to most of the people if it is possible.

WSOP has no presence in the Northeast. This is why there hasn't really been a major tournament series in the Northeast since before COVID.

There use to be Circuit tournaments of WSOP in Atlantic City.

Yes, Foxwoods in CT and Playground Poker in Montreal had them as well. I'm hoping that the WSOP adds 1 or both of then to their May WSOP Main Event Mega Satellites weekend.

If you look at the size of Poker Room at Borgata, Parx and Foxwoods, it’s hard to believe and mind boggling that WSOP and WPT ( If they still exist) doesn’t consider Northeast as viable poker market !!

I think they know it’s a very viable market. The problem is that, at least the casinos in AC have had trouble staffing dealers, cashiers, etc. In talking with the floor and dealers recently they say that no one wants to work. Very much a bummer since the Borgata used to run the best tournament series

I heard many times what you are saying. But the whole country has no problem or facing same problems. Still they are able to find people and run big series.

Why Atlantic City has problems ! Are they not paying as much as other casino destinations are paying ? Or Northeast players doesn’t pay tips like other regions players ? Or northeast state’s Casino control commissions are tough to deal with ?

What are the mysterious reasons behind it ?

I wonder the same thing. One of the dealers said that the pay for cashiers is pretty good (at the Borgata) but he said no one wants to work, but I don't know why that is. It's possible that when poker dried up in AC during the pandemic that most of the people that work in casinos moved elsewhere to get jobs, and there's just not enough people in that area anymore. Really not sure why they can't staff there. But they've seen from The Return poker series last month, and the one they tried last year, drew tons of people, so it's not that they don't think they can get the crowds to play.

Warming up about coming to WSOP this year.

Either coming for the Main event only, with the possibility that I bust day 1 and go back home. Not many other good tournaments at the time (maybe the Lucky 7s one... meh.)

Or coming for the Monster Stack, BigO, mixed O8, and HORSE week. Pretty sexy schedule...

The Main Event is just so difficult to pass on!

Don't forget about all the other tournaments at the other casino's during WSOP Main Event which have not been announced as of yet. If you get knocked out you will have plenty to pick from especially at Venetian and Wynn.
Breaking the record for main event entries will be great to be a part of along with the possibility of winning a main event entry for life, albeit only 1 person.

Started to look to book tickets to Las Vegas after the full WSOP schedule announcement .

I know there is inflation, but Air Line tickets prices seems out of control.
Use to buy tickets between $350 to $450 (R/T Ewr to Las.) And always saw Airlines are competing aggressively.

At present competition seems like non existence. Tickets price (with seats selection and baggage) are between $650 to $750. Kind of stiff. And feels huge price gouging collusion in-play.

Normally public advocacy groups right away jumps on the issue, but don’t hear anything at present.

Any comments ?

There are enough people willing to pay crazy high prices for all sorts of stuff so companies have no incentive to lower their prices

I paid about $300-350 round trip nonstop on SWA for 3 separate summer trips. I know many aren’t SWA fans, but I’ve had good luck with their nonstop flights.

Same. Have been looking at one way flights out on 6/16 since 12/17. Checking weekly.

The SW direct flight has gone from $313 to $353 to $391 and now down to $358.

I should have jumped on the $313 back in December.

The connection via Midway was $290 back in December. It has gone to $270 to $323 to $401 to $363 back to $401 and now at $368.

The last few years I would fly out, play a few events, fly back. Then a week or so later come back out. That’s not going to be a possibility this year. Frustrating.

Same situation here , last 5-6 years made 2 trips during the WSOP. Unless something changes (Politicians stops blessing the price gouging ) May be one trip .
If this is affecting many of us ,forget about record breaking year for WSOP.

Got great deals on flights from Southwest. No complaints in that department from me.

I did get gouged a bit for an upcoming March trip, but overall the rates were great for summer.

I read on the interwebs it’s best to book a flight two months in advance. Not more, not less. Not sure if true but there’s that.

By drugstore standards, the sandwiches at CVS in Vegas actually aren’t that bad since they are almost certainly no more than a day old. You can’t usually say that at a drugstore.

The only really disconcerting thing about them is, if you look at the “sell by” date, it’s almost always 10+ days later!!! I know they are sealed and that probabky makes them stay fresh longer, but 10+ days?!?!?! Lol.

It used to be that the best time to book was on a Tuesday, 50-60 days prior. I’m not sure that holds anymore because all prices are adjusted nearly real-time in response to demand and other factors, like fuel costs. So it really comes down to how many people are interested in the same flights you are.

As a rule of thumb, I wouldn’t book anything domestic more than about 4 months out. Once you get in that zone, if you see a reasonable price, jump on it. If not, wait. You are just as likely to get the lowest possible fair as it gets closer than you are to pay a steep premium. You just might not get the exact seating arrangement you want.

For SWA, you can always just rebook for the lower fare and get a flight credit for the difference that now never expires. So I would always just grab something on SWA then continue to monitor and rebook as needed/desired.
