From either Mirage or MGM Grand you could really just walk, it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes from either.

You could take the monorail from MGM Grand but I'm not sure it would save any time. Can't really take the monorail from Mirage since it's on the wrong side of the strip.

If you're going or coming from somewhere further, I'd just recommend Uber.

Big news from Kevmath:

Your chips are now in play once you register. They are no longer keeping stacks out of play for people who don't show up for the first however many levels like they did last year. For all events.

15 minutes of sitting in air-conditioned comfort or walking in 105 degree blast furnace.

MGM is a bit longer, maybe 20-25 min. And it’s pretty much outdoors the whole way. From Mirage, if one crosses LVB right away they can go most of the way through casinos.

BTW, anyone driving or taking Uber, I would plan ahead. LVB has been a ****-show in front of Horseshoe/Paris with the race construction. Check Google maps or some other traffic app first and try to figure out the best place to get dropped off. The best way of driving in to the parking garage probably involves going in the back through Audrie St. Probably the best way to get dropped off too

I haven't kept up with The Trooper. Does he have a 2-person Segway I can just hop a ride on?

Is the cash game list at WSOP not loading for anyone else on Bravo? It showed briefly yesterday, but down again. Says 10 games going, but the list of games doesn't load up. Just blank. Thanks!

By the way, if anyone is interested in playing 8-16 or 10-20 Stud8, Razz, or LHE any day between June 4th and June 10th, please let me know. Would love to get some interest started beforehand. Doesn't have to be at WSOP. Another room may be more convenient.

I wouldn't mind getting a HORSE or HETBRO ("Hey Bro") [add Badugi and replace Stud with 2-7TD] game during that time, options limited on where since the carnival mix is at RW, Orleans miiiiiight spread it if enough interest (since they have HORSE tourneys regularly.

How about Flamingo? Any trouble getting into Bally's that way, to get to the garage? Or is it better to enter on the Paris side?

You could hop on his back when he's on the electric skateboard.

Keeping the board up to date has always been a challenge for the WSOP. Even in the room, it's almost not worth looking at the board.

It depends on the time of day. I would just avoid anything near LVB and if parking in the Paris/Horseshoe garage, I would recommend going through the back entrance through Audrie St.

According to the plans I saw somewhere, they were supposed to be done with this area of construction by now, but apparently they are quite behind schedule.

So I just noticed that you can’t do online registration with credit card or bank transfers for $10K events. Is there any practical method to get money from your bank to get registered for an event between now and Saturday?

It was yesterday in the Paris ballroom. And perhaps hoodie weather outside, too, as it has only been in the low 90’s.

I'll be staying at Harrah's in a few weeks as I chase a bracelet. Is there a way to cut through casinos to get to Paris/Horseshoe for WSOP or is my only option to schlep on the strip in the heat?

Yes. Exit Harrahs and scoot into Linq by that Guy Fieri BBQ place. (minimal outside time)

Exit Linq and walk a short bit on the strip past Margaritaville and enter Flamingo casino at first door just beyond Margaritaville gift shop. (minimal to moderate outside time)

Exit Flamingo, and short outside walk to pop into Cromwell. (minimal outside time)

Go to back of Cromwell near sports book/check-in and exit there. Walk down sidewalk ramp, wait at annoying long light to walk across pedestrian crosswalk and into Horseshoe. This should be the longest time you will have to spend out in the heat. (moderate outside time)

Exit Harrah's into the Carnaval Court area, then immediately go into the entrance to Linq and stroll through the casino there. You then exit into the Promenade and can enter Flamingo and walk through that casino and then exit near Cromwell and enter Cromwell. You can either exit the Stripside Cromwell exit and then go up and over the pedestrian walkway or take a left in Cromwell and go out the exit that faces Flamingo Rd and then take the crosswalk over to the back side Horseshoe entrance.

EDIT: What he said above, except I exit LINQ and go right into the Flamingo entrance on the Promenade by GR Fish & Chips/Breeze Bar. You can exit through O'Sheas in the LINQ to be closer to this entrance, but it's easy either way.

Bank doesn’t have a branch within 1000 miles of here and it said wires have to be at least 5 days in advance or something.

What stakes cash games run in the kings lounge area in Paris? I saw there a big stud game when I was there last year, is there 25/50 or 50/100 mix running in there? Bravo shows a 20/40 mix going

Yikes at the dealer situation. Played the TOC. We had to instruct one dealer how many cards to put out for the flop. Also the card shuffling was just hilarious- watching new dealer riffle while nervous was the cake. Just pathetic for something that is supposed to be prestigious. They had some good dealers but come on. You can’t have dealers out of training school that don’t even know the rules of the game or how to make chip change. One of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen.

I’ll be at the Wynn, Venetian, and aria going forward. Idk the WSOP to me just seems like a money grab and isn’t prestigious. I would rather win a tourny at the Wynn or Venetian. I understand dealers need to learn somewhere but a wsop tournament is not the place- idk why a dealer would need to be instructed on how many cards are laid out on the flop. Just really really frustrating. A dealer shouldn’t be nervous dealing in a tournament- it’s going to be funny when a big mistake happens and it’s a new dealers fault bc they have no experience. At least get them dealing some low limit cash prior to throwing them to the wolves in a wsop tourny.

Btw the TOC was funny. Had some players that couldn’t put out a bb ante in a normal manner and on time. Folks- come on if you won a tournament- you shouldn’t need to be advised to put out the bb ante. Had another cat at my table ask if a 1k chip was a limp or raise when the bb level was 1k. It’s like dawg, how is it a raise if it’s one chip thrown out from ep player and is the same as what bb level it is. This dude said he worked at a financial services company (I won’t say which one but you would know if I said it). Kinda scary they hire such dopey people.
