This Main Event Maynia concept is interesting but I feel like they already had “official satellite locations” that I don’t see around much anymore.

Take note that the $1K Million Dollar bounty now has four starting flights on four separate days. Day 2 is now on June 4th, not June 3rd. I just changed my reservations to accommodate that slight change in schedule.

Any idea on what the minimum bounty will be? I didn't see it at first glance of the structure sheet.

Yes you are correct , it doesn’t say anything in the schedule or structure.

But when initial announcement was made , it said $10000- to 1 Million bounties

“…The flagship opening event is being billed as “Mystery Millions,” a $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament featuring mystery bounties from $10,000 to $1 million for each knockout and a $1 million guaranteed first prize through the traditional prize pool.”

I’ve never played a mystery bounty event but how does it work? Do only certain people start with a bounty? How do you know who has one? If everyone starts with one, the minimum bounty of $10,000 in a $1,000 tournament would quickly make the WSOP go broke.

Am I missing something on how this works?

Everyone is a bounty. But bounties do not come into effect until day 2 (when over 80% of the field will have hit the rail already). $300 from each buyin goes to the bounty pool.

I also didn’t played last year .But very interesting and complicated concept.

I am just guessing how it works.

Every one can not be a bounty. Reason: Buy-in is $1000 { $590 prize pool +$110 entry fees and dealers + $300 bounty Pool .} If each player is paying $300 towards bounty and bounty is between $10000 to $1 million, it’s impossible for WSOP to pay bounty to everyone.

It clearly says bounty starts on DAY 2 . That means ( in my understanding) , everyone who makes Day 2 are bounty.
So if you are lucky to survive today 2 , everyone you see at your table or any table are bounties.

* And 80% of field wasn’t knocked out on first day but 94% of the starting players were knocked out befor the end of the day 1’s.

If we look at last year’s all 4 staring flights end of the day list , less than 6% of the starting field made it to Day 2. For example Day 1 A had 3573 starting players , only 181 made it to Day 2!!

Out of total over 14000 player’s ,little over 800 players made it to Day 2.

Also I am not sure what was last year minimum bounty.

2023 original announcement said bounty will be $10000-$1 Million. So again calculations will be different.

I've never played a mystery bounty tournament before, so I'm not 100% sure how the bounties work, but this is my "guess".

So bounties begin on day 2. I believe every player that knocks out another player beginning on day 2 automatically receives a minimum bounty of $300, as per usual for a bounty tournament. THEN, they receive an entry to pick out of the BONUS bounty drum with bounties ranging from $10,000 - $1,000,000. Obviously not everyone that scores a bounty can win a minimum of $10,000 because there isn't enough in the bounty pool to offer that.

For ease of Math, let's say there are 20,000 entries, which results in a bounty pool of $6,000,000 (20,000 x 300). If they play down to 15% on day 1, that leaves 3,000 players left that are eligible to win bounties on day 2 and beyond. That leaves 2,999 mandatory bounty payouts (final man standing does not get a bounty obviously), which if the minimum was $10,000 would equal $29,990,000.

What I'm wondering is what is the count of each BONUS bounty?
e.g. how many $10,000 bounties, $15,000, $25,000, $100,000, etc

Perhaps not every player receives an automatic $300 bounty. They may draw from the bonus bounty drum, which contains mostly $300 bounties, and then some big ones ranging from $10K - $1 million. Vast majority will simply draw $300 bounties for each knockout.

All calculations and confusion is based on WSOP original announcement which said …“bounties from $10,000 to $1 million for each knockout ” . Unless it is misprint.

If the minimum bounties are either $300 or $1000 then it sounds like correct.

If we take last year’s Million $ bounty as an example. The structure and level were same as 2023. Last year all 4 day 1 flights ended with around on average 6% of the players after playing 22 levels. ( Not 15% )

Actually last year also had 4 flights

Day 1 – Flights A, B, C (July 2-4)

Day 1 – Flight D (July 4 - turbo flight)

Out of 14112 players 1986 players cashed but only 827 made day 2 so only 827 bounties.

The best surprise was Poker pro Matt Glantz who was knocked out of tournament at 42nd place was luckiest player to draw 1 million $ bounty for his collected bounty.

I don’t know how many players had multiple bounty tokens or the amount of other bounties or what was minimum bounty..

If anyone has those numbers ?

I noticed from 2023 full schedule announcement , there is No North East location for 2023 “MAIN EVENT MAYNIA “ !!!

I am surprised why ? Caesars has many properties in NJ , PA etc!

Is WSOP has difficulty with NJ , PA casino control authorities?

I live in Pittsburgh and the lack of Caesar’s properties nearby are frustrating. The closest is a Racino outside Columbus OH. El Dorado Scioto Downs, 3 hours or so. There’s no poker room there.

In PA I believe the only Caesar’s is the Harrahs in West Chester PA. Outside Philadelphia. Went there once. It’s next to a federal (I think federal), penitentiary and in a sus neighborhood. It has a poker room and will be one of the NE locations most likely.

In AC two of the three Caesar’s Rewards properties (Harrahs and Tropicana), have Poker Rooms. Caesar’s Palace no longer has one. I could see Harrahs AC running this too, no doubt.

Yeah I think the way they worded it was that additional hosts/spots will be forthcoming. Possibly opening the door for Harrahs West Chester PA and Harrahs AC.
To your point - the GCB in PA at least, is probably a big reason for the hold-up.

Booked Horseshoe for 6 days in June and 8 in July. Decent rates, considering that it's on-site. I also stayed there last year. RIP Gold Coast. RIP Rio.

Planning to play the Monster Stack again and maybe the Main Event. It's been a bucket list thing for me and I could scrounge up $10k if I stretched myself, but that's a lot to dump on a tournament for me. I'm considering trying to fire a few of the $1100 megas or just trying to buy in directly and sell a slice of my action. Might as well ask people what they think is the best method for winning a seat, seeing as we're already discussing the satellites.

Any tips on how to get healthy food while at WSOP?

When at RIO, I enjoyed the overpriced yet healthy food from AAD. Last year, staying at Bally's, diet was a true nightmare for me. Ventured on the strip every morning trying to find decent options but it was never good nor healthy. I am not overly concerned about the effect of heating junk food for a week on my health; it is just after a few meals, it takes a toll on my happiness. And most of us rec come to WSOP to be happy!

As dumb as it sounds, it is one of the few things that makes me debate about coming a week to play the main.

Curious to hear from a few of you how you managed last year.

Win the Monster Stack then buy in to the Main. Easy game.

I wouldn’t go the selling route. It can be tough, some people get a little crazy about it, taxes can be a pain, and you may not play your top game out of fear of losing someone else’s money. Unless you normally sell a piece, I wouldn’t do it.

So buy in with your previous winnings or do the mega satellite thing. Those are my votes.

BYOF. Bring your own food. Get a room at Horseshoe, bring groceries to make your own meals, and bring healthy fruit/vegetable options downstairs in a backpack or whatever.

That will at least get you through a tournament and when you’re not playing, I’m sure a lot of the local eateries offer salads and such.

Spot on. Your best bet is to request a refrigerator for your hotel room if they offer them. You'll be able to keep fresh fruit, yogurt, salads, and healthy sandwiches and snacks in there. I always bring a couple sandwiches, some yogurt, fruit, trail mix, and pretzels, etc. with me when playing. It beats looking for something healthy that is convenient and relatively inexpensive. I highly recommend getting one of those cooler lunch bags and an ice pack.

I think CVS and other stores on the strip sell sandwiches and salads. I took a trip to a supermarket and picked up what i needed. Things like Granola Bars, Nuts and String cheese are also relatively cheap and can go into the fridge.

i bought a bunch of fruit, salads and hummus and stuff from the Target on the strip for my 14 day trip last yr.

Also off strip bistro had a decent chicken quinoa avocado bowl thing and there is a True Food Kitchen across the street at Caesers. They have good salads and bowls and stuff like that.
