and btw johnny, fwiw, the ONLY thing i want to see changed on your schedule is instead of having $10 "optional" addons, just advertise the $340 with a $10 addon as a $350, and let's get rid of these completely unnecessary extra, semi-hidden fees (sorry johnny, but it IS hidden, you have to go to the bottom of the schedule and read txt, that's as hidden as it gets to me!).

and like chainsaw said, quit collecting these at the table and get them all up front.

thats where the problem is. casinos will give the dealers the $5 for a few tournaments then puff they decide to keep it all. its happens all the time...you can't comingle because eventually casinos think its their money.

make sense?

you're either completely ignoring what i post, or you are selectively skimming over them.

1. putting "3% of the prizepool will be witheld for the staff" and stuff like "$10 dealer appreciation addon for 5k in chips" in fine print at the bottom of the page is completely hiding the fees, and there's no possible way you will convince me otherwise.

2. your schedule simply states "fee" and does NOT indicate what goes to the dealers or the floor. NO WHERE is that information on this schedule.

3. if you're doing some sort of extra $10 dealer toke, collect it up front.

4. print all the fees clearly and where they go on each receipt, and quit simply taking a % of the prize pool. that % of the prize pool is the same proportion of the buyin deducted from every individual player, so just take the fees up front and be MORE OPEN ABOUT IT!

i can't imagine any profession where having such incomplete information as to what you're paying $5k for would be acceptable.

and you also ignored the fact that the most popular website where ppl will go to get WSOP/WSOPC structures/schedules doesn't state the fees either, and also attempts to hide them in fine print.

why can't you guys just be more up front and advertise them everywhere?

am i really being that unreasonable to expect you guys to be more transparent as to where the fees are all going?

I've just skimmed the thread but it seems like the TDs ITT want to advertise more than anything.

Is it that hard to put in amount going into prize pool + service charge + fee on the structure sheet? If 100% of the dealer bonus doesn't go to the dealers, just call it "staff appreciation".

Sketchy, do the individual casino websites for the upcoming wsopc series list the dealer appreciation?

Whatever they charge, it should still be ok, since those who play a lot of events are given a shot at a $1 million freeroll.

The Council Bluffs tournaments list:

Staff Appreciation, $5 or $10 for additional chips
3% of prize pool going to staff/dealers
1% of prize pool going towards National Championship (applies for ring events only, even if the schedule is wrong at times)
Final 9, 18 or 27 players getting a $50 voucher for the August 28 mega-satellite for their Main Event on the 29th.

The $50 voucher is from the prize pool? Is it transferrable? Nice that they changed the wording to staff appreciation.

It is transferable, but has no cash value.

I'd assume Jimmy could let you know if it's taken out of the prize pool?

Collecting cash at the table for a "dealer add on bonus" sounds shady as hell. It should be paid at the same time as everything else.

yes it is. and it is transferable. I believe this to be much better than holding out 1 seat for the championship seat. This is better because 31- you can transfer or sell it. #2 it gets more players involved. #3 it ensures a HUGE super satellite;even for the players that do not have a voucher. #4 - this super has rebuys. This means that the $50 could eassily turn into $150 towards the Championship event.

The receipts here in AZ say $1050 and they ask you for $25 in cash at the table. A floorman walked around with a bucket and collected about $8000 from the tables today.

The dealers just handed the money to the floorman who put it in the bucket without counting, the total from this pool will be about $25,000 for the 3 day 1s.

2 good things though, the buyin was only $1050, a bargain in todays market, and it appears they are adding $100K to the prizepool tomorrow if they get about 320 more players.

Jimmy, this appears on the structure sheets you put up for Council Bluffs:

Quote:
Top twenty seven (27) players will receive a $50 voucher good for the 10 AM Super on August 28, 2010. This voucher is good toward the buy-in, re-buy, or add-on. This voucher may be transferred, but has no-cash value.
I'm sure it was an oversight since you said players could sell the vouchers, correct?

They can sell the voucher. The no cash value is lingo used by the casino and gaming saying that the CASINO will not buy back the vouchers. To the casino the vouchers have no cash value. But sure , players can sell the vouchers to other players if they wish.
Any vouchers not used , the money WILL be put in the super satellite regardless.

How much are the supers for the $1500, and what size vouchers will be awarded for 10k main events?

I remember u did this in tunica last year, and I liked this because it created a huge super, and dead money in the pool for those who didn't show.

Kevmath, Jimmy etc. Is the main event at Horseshoe Council Bluffs really $1400 + 200 as listed on Cardplayer? I assumed it would be $1500 + 100 at worst. If it really is $1400 + 200, is there an additional dealer bonus and 3% witheld on top of that?

The world series was $1350 plus $150 on their $1500s.

The structure I was presented by Jimmy for this event is really good and it is a 3 day event, which may explain why its so high, but I was hoping it was a typo.

Jimmy,

Being proud of this statement is pretty hilarious. Is it patently untrue-1% of the prize pool from every single event all year gets posted towards the prize pool of the $1 million event at the end of the year, with zero indication that if more than $1 million is received that the prize pool will grow. You've also managed to ensure that said money will be taken and be distributed to a very small group which will consist mainly of people playing 10ks and people traveling the circuit, thus severely limiting the chances of any "normal" players chances of recovering said 1%.

Good work on the suggestion, though. More fees and rakes in manners that ensure that the average player gets less back is definitely a good way to expand your business model.

It's going to be hard to increase the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool by taking out from $3-$100 per player (1% of buyins from WSOP-C ring events $300-$10,000). I had the same issue with Jimmy before he set me straight.

AK,

The structure sheets do say $1,500 + 100, with 3% taken out for staff/dealers and 1% towards the $1,000,000 National Championship. So if you wish, consider it a $1,440+160+20 for Staff Appreciation.

Finally a place with reasonable rake. Bike ss $500+35 1 in 10 win a seat. No 3%, no dealer addon at the table.

Other venues charge 550 + dealer addon, then take out 3% so you need 11 players to get each seat.

Wonder how the beau supers are set up for their $5k.

This is very true. In the years I spent travelling and dealing it was quite common to work an event where there was an add-on included at the registration desk and then when I returned to the same event the next year the casino was taking the same amount out but no portion of it went to the staff any longer.

You should remember that sketchy, I believe you were dealing at a few of those events.
