sorry if im out of line here, but you bumping this thread every time you log on is getting tiring. i dont even read it, but i just see it on the front page and its frustrating that as always, you are using 2+2 as your own little blog, outlet, means of personal communication. if this is a personal matter, handle it like so.

Please read the times on the posts before u make ridiculous accusations. If you dont even read it, why would it matter to you? The thread was already on the front page when I responded.
Get a life!

End of rant. Apologies accepted if u care to make any.

look man, you start tons of threads, bump the ones about you/the ones you care about relentlessly, and make everything all about yourself, except ironically enough your well thread, where you failed to answer tons of questions.
your act is tiring and obnoxious.

Stop trolling me. If you took the time to look at my well thread you'll see I answered hundreds of questions. When its pointed out that I missed even one, I go back and answer it.

As far as this thread is concerned, the issue is important to all live event players, and there is overwhelming support from posters here for me bringing this issue to light.

Obviously a casino derives additional income from running poker tournaments. Rooms, food, rake in live games, and casino action from players who wouldn't be there otherwise are just a few examples.

The arizona state championship has a $25 dealer addon, but the total is still a reasonable $1075.

+a totally unreasonable "guarantee"

if they get 900 runners they "guarantee" the prize pool is $1m (ie they add 100k). if it's 899 or less, LOL @ the "1 million guarantee"

Makes it a better value to go all 3 days. If everyone did that, until they qualified, would surely be an overlay

I just found out myself. With 3 starting days and re-entry it may make the guarantee.

Have you ever posted an opinion in a forum and knew that you would be butchered for it? This is my apporach to this thread.

There are many issues we face as managers and TD's that involve balancing the interests of the players, the casino, and the staff. We have to out out a product the players like, or they won't play. We have to pay the staff and dealers adequately, or they won't work. We have to show a profit for the company.

Keep in mind, many of us who have been in the game for years share some common traits: We host successful events that are professionally staffed and executed, and we DO keep the players interests and opinions in mind when we design our structures and events. Supporting data could be examined to look at the turnout of the events based on timing and local population, factoring in the sluggish economy.

Our structures have improved drastically over the years, but there is a tipping point (no pun intended) where the profitability of the events decreases to a point that they are no longer viable. The consequences of going past that tipping point for an individual operator are not good.

From Casino Arizona's Twitter, in response to buying in to multiple days:

Quote:
@Kevmath absolutely! You can buy a seat for all three days if necessary to make it to the final play on Monday.

i can't imagine why on earth you would think anyone would butcher you over this response.

can you please address why you don't clearly state the "dealer appreciation" fees on receipts (instead of stamping them on there) and why you don't just advertise these up front? it's extremely annoying to not see these things in the fine print. EVERY event you run should be advertised with ALL the fees broken down not only on the schedule/structure sheets but on the tickets.

and i have never seen (outside of the commerce i believe) ANY place do this, and i think it's very unprofessional.

Collecting the fee in cash at the table, with no record of who or how many paid, is what irks me.

We disclose on the schedule of events, a structure sheet, and a sign at the registration desk that notifies each player of the dealer fee. We also have the registration staff ask if the players would like to purchase the additional chips at the desk. There is nothing hidden about it.

As far as getting the amount listed on the receipt, that should not be a problem.

WIth that addressed, what other issues do you have?

100% are willing to pay, even me, just make the buy in $125 or whatever at reg. With a proper receipt and still give the extra $5 to dealers.

http://www.wsop.com/tourney/tourneyd...sp?groupID=770

why would you say it's "not hidden" when EASILY the place most players view your schedule for your WSOPC doesn't mention fees ANYWHERE on it?

it should read EXACTLY what the buyin is first, like 180+x+x, with the first number what $ goes to the dealers the 2nd to the house.

i repeat, i have NEVER seen this anywhere on the WSOP.com site or the schedules you put out, they always say "$235 NLHE" and then on the structure sheet, they put some breakdown way down there in the fine print. that's unacceptable.

and hiding the actual fees is just as underhanded, you should ALWAYS print all the fees in plain english on the schedules and not force people to read fine print to understand where the $ goes.
