I did it. But did not receive my money.

I live in Brazil and there was a tournment announced for 1Kk guaranteed. There were 13 clubs involved and 888 poker was the sponsor.

It happened between may 1st 2018 to may 16th 2018.

There were advertising from 888 poker and Vivian Saliba, brazilian 888 poker pro team. There were advertising from poker clubs, federation presidents ( it was a National tournment, with 13 provinces participating and several of them had their poker presidents supoorting it.

Anyways... there was an overlay and they say they can’t pay me now. What should i do?

I’ll post the tournment link UP here and i much apreciated any sugestions and actions taken.

From what I gather, 888 did not organize this tournament. They're just advertisers. Why are you trying to drag their name into this?

Not trying to drag anybody’s name into nothing.
Just saying that a tournment this big, and sponsors such as 888 poker Ariely gives players the confidence to play without even thinking in the Possibility of not receiving.

If i was a respected company, i’d never drag my name into a project without having 100% certain that they could deliver what they guarantee.

For sure! There isn’t any video, folder or banner saying that it wasn’t an 888 tourney.

No. They're just advertisers. I would not expect them to have any involvement in the operation of the tournament. I wouldn't even expect anyone from 888 to be there.

Actually, there were two 888 poker representants.
One responsible for Brazil operations and the olher directly from Israel, on their headquarters.

Who is actually responsible for paying you? You have not even mentioned them, all you want to talk about is 888.

Did you at least get the amount you would have received from the actual (overlay free) prize pool?

It was organized by CNE, a club from Brasília, and 12 obter clubs arround the country.

For round Numbers, i won 200k and received 28k. And only because i went to Brasília ( payed plane ticket and hotel ) and the owner of CNE sold her car to pay me, otherwise i would receive nothing. Till now, AT least.

If they didn't pay you at least what they collected in prize pool money it's straight up theft.

They payed The other players, Ana simply runned out of cash and did not pay me, the second and the 4th place, cause the 3rd was playing for them ( belive or not, só the overlay was in deed lower then what they say! )

How big was the overlay? Did they pay the other places?

Who regulates the poker rooms? It sounds like you have to take legal action.

So the guy who can’t go a day without bagging on Stars or DNeg, flips out because OP mentioned that 888 is sponsoring the event. Was their qualifying for that event on 888?
Is their a gamaing commission you can go to?

For sure i Will. The CBTH regulates the clubs who participeted in the tourney.

There is CBTH, who regulates province federations in Brazil. I’ve takes to them and they seem to be in my side. Anyways, just wanted to Exposé this scandal that involves everyone, including 888 poker.

My thing is, and always has been, that I hate scammers. PokerStars is a company that has scammed players and partners for millions of dollars.

I think it's lame for OP to imply that 888 scammed him when that apparently is not the case. He has even clarified that some other organization owes him the money. I can totally get behind condemning those people.

tbh it does have 888 all over the tables and the flyers and you could be led to believe that 888 may have been involved unless otherwise informed.

You’re right that 888 didn’t scam him and don’t owe him any money. However, their name lends a certain amount of legitimacy and credibility to the tournament and one would reasonably assume 888 wouldn’t sponsor a tournament unable to meet their financial obligations to the players.

I think OP would be better off letting 888 know what happened in the tournament they sponsored and how it can be damaging to their reputation. Then pursue the matter legally with the people who owe him the money.

Agreed. I think that's totally reasonable. I had similar thoughts when WPT licensed their name out to so some random small cardoom in Texas where it's arguably not even legal to run poker tournaments.

It's definitely a bad look to be associated, and a bit reckless to slap your brand on just anything. That's not the same thing as being liable though, and I think OP is just saying they are because he's desperate to draw attention to his situation.

Just clarifying: 888 has everything about it. They were the oficial sponsors of the event, including that they gave a package to WSOP crazy 888, wich i won, and then played The tournment.
