I'm curious if the new WSOP regulations have affected the plans of people who were considering attending the event(s).

I was able to get 13 days comped during Oct when they first announced the WSOP before prices shot up. I rarely ever get comped rooms as a poker player and the only reason I got these was I avoided Vegas most of 2020 besides one trip near the end of the year where I threw money in the slots I had left over from my remaining budget.

I was planning on 21 days before the delta strain got so bad and decided to cancel my trip (haven't canceled my rooms yet, but have my flight). Now the new vax proof is making me reconsider. I will likely be going now but I will not play nearly as many tournaments as I normally play. I will also drive and use this Oct trip to explore more of the area in Vegas and its surrounding areas. Not spend so much time in the poker rooms.

Going to play at other casinos in Vegas playing at Rio just about ego will make more at Wynn

i can't find it in the degen in me to play casino poker during a covid peak.

People like yourself are part of the reason I think turnout will be very low this year. No euros will be playing. Not many Canadians, and they might get closed out by the time the Series starts. And obviously nobody that isn't jabbed will do WSOP. Haven't heard if the other series will require the jab, but if most of them do, a lot of players are not going to bother to make the trip at all.

Oh by the way, every player has to be vaccinated but dealers don't. Because all of this is not just performative nonsense.

Covid cases, hospitalizations and deaths in LV have been dropping rapidly for weeks. Next peak likely end of year, though hopefully it will be less severe than last year. Do your own DD.
