How about at the Rio?
It's free, but it's inconvenient. You have to park and walk through the mall to get to the casino (tourneys are on the Mezz upstairs from the casino). I've heard some people say it's easier to park at Aria and walk across the bridge to the PH, but haven't tried that myself.

Rio parking has been free every year I've been down, but I don't know if they're changing. Rio and PH are both Caesar's properties. I thought it was MGM properties that had announced pay parking is coming, but maybe it's broader than that? I was there a few weeks ago at an MGM property (Monte Carlo) and they had not yet implemented pay parking.

goal is always 9 handed depending on player entry, amount of open tables..etc. This year we have 10 more tables than last year so that will help a bit.

June 9th Dealer's Choice event - perhaps you could move it to June 2, 3, or 4th? There is not much going on mixed-game wise early in your schedule, and these dates would put your dealer's choice event right before the $1500 WSOP dealer's choice event on June 5th and attract that same crowd.

June 13th HORSE event - perhaps you could move that later in the schedule, as there are also not a lot of mixed events toward the end of your schedule. Perhaps something like June 29, July 3rd, July 6th, July 8 - 11th?

Thanks for listening.
appreciate the feedback but we are locked in my friend!

Anyone know how many levels will be played each day for the 3-day Goliath events. Specifically the one that starts on 06/21 and 06/22?

Is there a $75 buy in turbo that's not on the schedule? If so when does it run? thanks

pre GOLIATH it runs 10a 1p 4p, and 9p. During GOLIATH the 9p will not run. It has a $1,250 guarantee.

Sooooo, any word on the breaks situation? I don't necessarily need a dinner break if I am getting a 15 minute break every 4 levels or so. The structure sheet doesn't provide any info on any of the Goliath Events

Hi everyone, a few changes had to be made to GOLIATH. Here's a play by play on what's changed.

The USO has decided to postpone their event so event 3 is now a Triple Stack Turbo NLH with $25 Bounties - no pp guarantee. $100 + $30 and has a 4pm start time.

Quantum events 1 and 49 will now have estimated prize pools instead of guaranteed prize pools of $100K and $200K respectfully.

$100K turbo NLH events 34, 67, 70, and 79 have been replaced with $100+$30 double stack turbo events with $5,000 GTD.

Total guarantee for GOLIATH 2016 is still north of $7.5M. We are sorry any inconvenience this has caused. I certainly hate having to alter the event in any capacity this close to the kickoff but it was a necessity.

-Chris

Is this a result of players' recognition that the 12% and 15% day1s offer such poor value and a concession that now turnout may be lower than originally assumed for those days?

Feedback from our players is extremely important as you can see in our recent changes to GOLIATH 2015 and 2016. The Two Plus Two posts are a huge contributing factor to the success of GOLIATH.

At least you realize the Quantum brand you bought is garbage and are basically scrapping expectations for it.

Too bad you didn't go to the full way and consider it a lost cost and just replace it with something better.

As I mentioned in another post, what is odd about the Quantum isn't even so much its unorthodox structure, but rather its inclusion in the Goliath series. This series doesn't need some sort of bizarre experimental event to drum up business. It already has a lot of good things going for it.

If PH wanted to experiment with this structure, they should have done it by having a mini-series during March Madness, or at some other time when they don't usually have anything. In that timeframe, there would be lots of recreational or casual poker players around who might be enticed to play the Quantum format because of its low buy in/relatively large prize pool, particularly if there are no competing poker events going on. As it stands, there are a million competing poker tourneys, including some at PH, which are likely far more attractive than Quantum.

Who know? Maybe it will be a big success simply because its different. But by the reaction its gotten in these forums and anecdotally when I have spoke to people about it, it seems to more likely to turn into a dud.

I do not like you guys using "estimated prizepool". It's a fine print gimmick. For the common people, or even the ones who don't read every single line, they'll think it's an actual guarantee. You're conning people without having anything to risk, not cool.

I agree. It's like when they changed x% withheld for dealers to x% withheld for tournament staff and then ask players to tip dealers from their winnings since dealers often get very little of, if any, of that tournament staff fee.

And it's also like when some tournaments started listing their fees in structures sheets with words (like four) instead of numbers since they would be less noticeable.

All within the real of marketing legality, but still sketchy nonetheless.

This particular change reflects the reality that TDs (Chris included) know how important prize pools and guarantees are to attendance. In this case they want all the benefits without any of the risk. Poor form on the part of the PH, but as always, caveat emptor.
