full sched of series

pretty interesting, never seen them run something higher than a $2k/2.5k before. and they've lowered the rake for it to 5%, which is chill. tempted to yolo it, but also concerned about the field quality with the 2.5k running the morning before. idk how people are gonna have cash left to play it? also think the price point and lack of guarantee is gonna bump a lot of guys out that would be willing to play a $1500-2500 mtt.

thoughts? anyone else playing this series?

I like FW structures, but their schedules in recent years have not been at all rec-friendly. I used to play 4-5 series per year (2-3 event per series)... usually including the ~1500 Main events.

Now I'm down to maybe two events total per year, and even that is a stretch (I didn't play any events in 2016)

As for the high roller, I think they have had a number events like this in the 3-5K range in recent years. My recollection is they don't draw very well at all (only 10 entries in the 5K they held in April). I would be kind of surprised if they get more than a few tables for this 4K. But if you want to playa glorified SnG, this seems like a decent structure. But I do think the field would be stronger than average.

Thanks for the info. Forgot about this thread.

Looked at the structures again after posting this and imo the structure is pretty bad, 40 min levels, and it actually doesn't even start as deep as the $2500 (50k/200 vs. 30k/100) and it only has 40 min levels. So yeah definitely a glorified sng type thing. If all their high buyin stuff had the same structure it might be more palatable but imo its pretty laughable that the high roller plays faster than the $2500 main.

My friend was saying all the HRs at live tourney series are like this, sng type field size, poor structure, poor EV.

"Glorified sng" is a overdoing it. For the price range it's not the greatest structure, but its not horrible. Those 50k starting chips help a lot in making it a decent structure.

However, what should be illegal is how they hid that 3% of the prize pool is being taken for administration fees. So, it's actually 3686/200/114

The decent structure is why its a "glorified" SnG instead of just a regular SnG
