imo san remo isn't as bad as it is being made out to be and it definitely suffered numbers wise from only having a couple of weeks after Vienna for satellites with gf sats running at the same time too. It's not the greatest but a lot of the stops aren't perfect and there are so many limitations on where an ept can be held. Finding somewhere legally allowed/large conference space/good location/affordable/easy to get to/good hotels + food + things to do nearby etc limits options a lot.

Dunno about Zurich but Holland has legal issues fwiw ^ and I like Tallinn a lot but idk if there's a suitable venue (swissotel is too small) and still gonna be very few local players I'd think.

I'd love an EPT Brussels to happen. Very central, easy to get to from just about anywhere and an interesting city.
Lots of conference rooms available too but unfortunately there are legal issues with having a poker tournament outside a casino, although maybe there's wiggle room now that stars has had to associate with a B&M casino (Namur) for licensing purposes. Alternatively there's a casino in Brussels itself, but it is associated with another poker site (win2day.be) and might be too small anyway.

Also +1 to Amsterdam, no idea what the legal issues exactly are, but maybe some kind of cooperation with Holland Casino can make things works? One can only hope

PokerStars have as far as I know never ran a tournament in the Netherlands, there must be a good reason for that and I'm pretty sure even if they did run a tournament there they would test a few smaller events first and not just flick it in for a huge two week EPT Festival. I believe all Dutch gambling is ran by the state.

Fwiw I went to San Remo once and I really liked the place. There are only like 4 casinos? In Italy. Surely that's the best place. Bring back Berlin tho!

Yeah there has to be a reason but in my simplistic view they could just rename the MCOP to 'EPT Amsterdam', increase the buyin with €1k and start running sats on stars. State can keep 'running' it like it is today.

+1 to more diverse locations, the circuit kinda gets "boring", its the same locations at the same time of the year for years pretty much now... (deauville in summer would be interesting tho imho)

Don't know about suitable venues much in Tallin, there must be some bigger conference places here. We had a few years ago a tournament here with +1k runners starting at the same day simultaneously in a sport hall so I figure it must be possible to find a place matching the needs a bit better. Yeah probably between 30-50 Estonians (from population of 1,3 million) but there's no big tournaments in the region, it would be like home ground for people from lot of the neighbouring contries for various reasons. I imagine Baltics + Scandinavia + Russia would get 300-500 players here if the sattys were half as good as they have been.

I would also love a stop somewhere in the Balkans/Bulgaria/Romania area. Would be nice to have a new stop and there are a lot of players in the region who also have to travel quite far for EPT experience. Shouldn't be hard to find an affordable place with various attractions there.

How about an ept in Paris, Venice or debrovnik?

Wouldn't "want" San Remo to happen again but I'm in the camp that it wasn't as bad as some are making it out to be based on my first experience. It's pretty boring and there isn't too much to do outside of poker so I guess relatively speaking to alternatives it is pretty bad.

Why isn't Vienna fixture for the EPT11? In my humble opinion it is ideal spot for EPT

Really needs some kind of Eastern European presence considering the amount of Eastern Europeans playing on Pokerstars these days. I like the sound of EPT St. Petersburg. It's about as European as you can get in Russia, and there would be tons of Russian fish trying to satellite in, as well as rich Russian businessmen. Also, easy to get to from places like Finland. Only 3 hour flight from London.

Only issue would be the legality of poker and players getting travel Visas. I'm sure I've seen some kind of RPS - Russian Poker Series thing though so should be fine.

I'm not sure if you are serious but there hasn't been an international poker tournament in Russia for around 5 years. So apart from it isn't legal, visas are a problem, the country is partially at war and currently hated by most Western nations then yeah, should be fine
