the Megas are good, quick structure, but soft play and Winstar adds 20k to the prize pool, giving an extra $500 to the top 40 finishers.

i live in round rock, planning on leaving around 7ish. Ugh, I know. Going alone, planning on staying at Quality Hotel in Ardmore. Everything in Gainesville is booked, not sure why. If you're interested in splitting drive and/or room, shoot me a PM.

Man you guys are deidicated...I have a tough time making the drive from Fort Worth...I plan on playing the Deep @ Choctaw on Saturday and Mega on Sunday at Winstar as well...I have had decent experince with the cash games at Choctaw, but that was during the WSOPC so who knows what it is like any other time. IMO $1/$2 softer @ Choctaw, $2/$5 softer at Winstar.

Thank you guys for making the Deep Stack tournament a success. I appreciate all of you guys support. I do have a question that i would like your input on. What do you guys think of the Bonus chips for hours of play before the tournament? Good or Bad ideal?

I think with already 15k in chips and the tourney starting at noon it's unnecessary.

I like it for the nightly tourneys during the week though.

I play there (cash games and tournaments) and I do not like Bonus chips for tournaments. I think the # of chips should be a set amount, and if you really really feel you must do a dealer toke add-on you can do that also so long as it is a reasonable amount.

But everybody should be able to walk up to the cashier and buy in for the same amount of chips.

Hope to see you this Saturday for the tournament!

I vote no, pretty much like westhoff said - plenty of chips, and you have to get there early to play at noon (if you're coming from DFW), so you would have to get up at like 6am and leave at like 7 or 8 to get there and squeeze in a few hours for bonus chips.

My only suggestion would make sure everything is efficient on the cash game side of things throughout the day and towards the end of the tournament, so that there isn't much of a wait and the tables are full...

I dont like the idea of bonus chips for the new Saturday DS, as others above have said $15K is plenty to start. Going to be up to play it tomorrow

With the increased starting stack I don't think the bonus chips are necessary anymore. In the old structure the 600 possible chips you could get was a nice percentage increase in your stack and got more chips into play. With the new starting stacks these 600 chips really won't make a difference.

I like that you've lowered the hours requirement for the freeroll. Now those hours that you play prior to the tournament can be used to get into one of the freerolls.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Marvin,

I am not a big fan of bonus chips that cannot be earned by every player in the tournament. Dealer tokes can be taken advantage of by everyone whereas cash game chip additions cannot. This is an unfair competitive advantage for some and disadvantage for others. Not that 600 chips is a large % of a 15k stack, but it still represents an advantage over a player who did not play cash. If you want to reward players for cash game play, take a $ amount off of their entry fee or buy in as a token of appreciation. The competitive balance of a tournament should never be compromised due to external activities.

Thanks again for all that you are doing.

Jody

Just got home from cashing in todays Deep Stack Event. Thanks again Marvin for doing this. We have needed a tournament like this for a while.

I dont like the idea of getting extra chips for playing cash earlier. 15k is enough and starting at noon and being a 10 hour tournament just makes it harder for a small gain.

Please Please PLEASE get another signup or a faster way to check in to the tournaments. 30+ minute lines are crazy.

Keep up the great work and cya next week

+1 for running this and concur on reg line.

I gave most of my chips n level 5 to an older lady who loved her cards whether strong or not regardless of position who kept catching on me. I will play it a couple of times per month for sure.

Also sat in the 2/5 game for about 8 hours which for Choctaw was pretty decent, maybe 6-8K on the table most of the time.

One of my buddies took it down, he had like 140k when blinds were around 400-800 and pretty much went wire to wire.

Didn't play the tournament this week, but the cash games were running great. The PLO got running early and many of the 1/2/5 and 2/5 games were packed with big stacks.
