I asked Brandon about this (one of the floor guys) and he said he's heard the rumor but it's totally false.

Problem with talking to floors is they probably know less than you. They don't get told because management doesn't want the help leaving until they don't need them anymore.

On Tuesday Jimmy told me he had the schedual for the wsopc in Jan. almost ready. But things change. I heard the rumor while in Bossier City and already had heard the reason Kenny left was that the room either was closing or moving back to it's old location near the show room. It is hard to see them hosting poker tourneys without a poker room.

I don't understand the reasoning if this is true. It's not like they need the space since the room is upstairs and isolated. It's not like it doesn't get enough traffic.. it is busy enough.

What would be the rationale?

After talking to Jimmy Sommerfeld tonight I think this maybe just a rumor. Choctaw has been asking him for poker room manager recommendations and is talking to Dennis Jones about taking the position.

I was told that the casino was talking to Dennis about the managers job but he is in France working the WSOPE so I'm sure he won't make any decision until he returns. I was hoping some of you locals would have heard more than I have.

It will be the regular $150+$20+$10 Deep Stack tournament according to the calendar on the Choctaw website:

wondering about the saturday 7pm 120+10...does this usually get alot of people and how long does it usually last? i'm from okc and was planning on playing this or playing 4/8 PLO8 at winstar...thanks for the feedback!

id say 4 or 5 tables usually, haven't been there in awhile and its slow season so i wouldnt be surprised if its only ~30 players

Starting stack is 10k plus another 5k for $10 extra... So essentially 15k effective starting stack. There's no guarantee but it usually fields about 80-100 players on average during this time of year. Could be a bit higher or lower because of the holiday weekend though.... Unsure really. It's a great tourney and the structure is very good.
