Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

Does anyone know how many levels are open for late registration in the $240 and $350 Events?

Thanks...Bobbo

According to Event 1's structure sheet:

"Registration will close at the beginning of Level 9."

There is no mention of registration cutoff in the other 240/350 structure sheet. To be safe, assume the cutoff is the end of the 1st break.

If they can match that structure for the 3k main, I'll show up.

Here it is.. You can use this in your conversations

Should be easy to match a tourney with half the buying right?
I like it. I'll definitely do that. Thanks!

pm if anyone's interested in swapping a point or two.
How would swapping work for a multi-entry like this?

I suppose 1% would just stay 1% no matter the number of buy-ins but that seems a little odd.

I saw that pre registration is in the cage and thats mostly likely 24 hours, can anyone confirm this as I would like to try to do this when I get in late tonight. Also, is it possible to reg for 1b and if you don't need to play it get refunded? Thanks!

Good question! I hurt my brain trying to figure it out. I guess the easiest way to handle is like you mentioned. 1% = 1%, regardless of the number of entries.

U agree upfront to unlimited buyins or just one buyin, or it doesn't work.

You have to both be ready to play every day or just agree on a single day beforehand. If someone is knocked out day 1 but doesn't play day 2 while the other does the first person should at a minimum owe 1% of the buyin to the other person.

How many expected for the main?

Showing that 2010 = 235; 2011= 304; 2012= ??

Any reason to expect more/less compared to last year?

Yes, more conflicts with other series this year, and worse structure.

What are the "more conflicts" this year you are referring to, which were not there in 2011?

LAPC shouldn't draw any attendance away from the main imo. I received some info from the casino on the re-entry event too, not sure if its been detailed in this thread or not but heres the rundown on event 1:

When you bust you get back in line and reregister, and pay the tourny fee each time. You can play both day 1s and take the bigger of the 2 stacks into day 2

I heard this too...I'll be very interested to see if they can get people registered more efficiently than years past after the tournament starts.

Anything in the Midwest? Poker is pretty huge in chicago. I wouldn't worry about the field sizes

Hmm.. the thing that's gotten me interested is the $60K added for the ME.
At 300 players, its basically rake free.

This. Plus this event draws from several other large metro areas. There will be plenty of players from the Cincy, L'ville and Indy areas for sure. Assume St.L and Detroit has plenty of reps as well.
