202 players remain after Day 1 of the CPC Main Event.

Day 2 Chip Counts are available on the Horseshoe Casino's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/chicagohorseshoe.

Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

The most interesting thing for me about this series was/are the 6PM turbos.
I figured they would be super soft fields. I was wrong.
Last night had 115 entrants. I sat down at my first table - 7 players and 3 dead stacks.
5 of the 7 players had made or were currently making their living at poker. The other 2 were competent. Now, I still figure there to be some holes as so much of turbo is push/shove range stuff that internet guys have cut their teeth on, but it was a bit eye-opening. Still, might not have been a bad tournament. It's $160 + $40, but there is the Camaro for 1st place in the turbo series and the turbo tournaments count toward overall point total for the $50k prize for #1 in the series. Since the point values are not weighted down for a small field turbo, the event might be worth it for the big prizes. Regardless, it's very quick. In 2 of the 4 I played, I didn't get picked up from my seat in the cash game I was playing Hourly over total EV

Seems others figured out the math as well as 2 of the 7 starters in last night's turbo were still alive with decent stacks in the main event.

I don't know why I forget that "turbo" doesn't appeal to the live donk who will play in these series. Oh well, the fields in the early and weekend $240s and $350s has been nearly as soft as I expected.

Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

UPDATED CPC PLAYER POINTS: Jose Serratos has now made three final tables at the CPC and he finds himself in sole possession of the overall points lead. Chris Campbell and Paul Han trail by only 1.5.

After a cash in the fourth turbo series tournament, Derek Monson leads the way in the turbo series with 16.25 points. Ronald Cummings is in second with 15 points. Anastas Mukoski, Michael Younan and Ryan Leng (12.5) are tied for third.

The overall CPC points leader will be awarded $50,000 and the turbo series points champion will be awarded a 2012 Camaro V8 or the $30,000 cash option.

With three numbered events and two turbo tournaments still to come, the competition is completely up for grabs.

The series comes to a close on Monday, March 5.

Insane heater in 6 max. Thank goodness for bad old guys who think it's impossible to have aces twice in 4 hands, and thus 5 bet 50k into a 10k 4 bet. Also quads like 5 hands later. 180k or so.

Trip highlight was getting berated by a local for not checking it down when a guy was all in a few hours into the $350 6max today.

you dont just go moseying into another mans casino and think its okay to bet into dry side pots todd. Objective 1..knocking out the competition. Objective 2..chip accumulation. This should help you from being berated in the future.
