That's correct. 2611 entries with re-entries, 198 paid. Busted in 205th or so and it sucked, but oh well min cash was $580 and most players this deep were in for >1 bullet

These guys are ruining poker for the average recreational player. Just add this to the ridic rake, the re-entries, and so forth that kill the rec player.

I laughed about my penalty, but you should see how some of these avg guys are responding.

On top of that, the TDs have encouraged angle-shooting. There was a player near the end of the day 1 bubble yesterday who said he saw the guy to the right's card flash. He wasn't in the hand, but he used it as an opportunity to get rid of the pushing stack to his right... horrible.

Whatever, these clowns always forget they are in customer service. They feel like they're doing us the favor all the time.
I'm sorry but this is just an unnecessary flame. Can you elaborate on how the TDs are encouraging angle shooting? Steve and Charlie are very reasonable people. They obviously are not trying to ruin poker for the recreational player. What is the benefit for them in that?

And FYI, I got a one round penalty yesterday for exposing my hand. I was in the 2 seat, and when I went to muck my cards hit the 1 seat's hand and my 4c was exposed. Steve came over and the dealer said "seat 2 exposed his hand." I got a one round penalty. I took Steve aside and told him how my cards hit the 1 seat's hand, we went back to the table and he asked the dealer. She said she didn't see it, so I took my penalty, which was fine with me. I talked to Steve about it more and they just want a simple black and white rule. They are aware accidents happen. My advice is to be polite, clearly state what happened if the dealer just says something general (remember they're held to strictly enforcing this rule too), and if you have questions ask Charlie or Steve.

Out in 30th. Lost half my stack on a hero call against a dude who didn't want a call, but he just wasn't good enough to have any idea where he was betting the best hand. Then JT > AQ for most of the rest. Then my 86 can't suck out on A4, gg.

Can anyone list the FT payouts for Event 1 for me?
Or, even better, link me somewhere that has them? I searched but couldn't find anything.

They do not... They have $15 rake for all events: $55, $80, $130, $240 and $340. So it's ($40+15, $65+15 etc.)

Except they were running a re-entry tourney not a rebuy.

But rebuy's don't let them rake another $40 from the prize pool.

no. It's not an unnecessary flame.

I've been to quite a few circuits around the country since Black Friday and only in Hammond is the rule called like this.

It causes the rec player to steam a ton. Did you see them when serving the sit out?

And, I detailed how it's encouraging angle shooting. It happened near the day 1 bubble when a player out of the hand said he saw the guy to his right's hole card expose on a fold and got him out for a round.

The enforcement of this rule is horribly misguided in Hammond.

Steve and Charlie have obviously heard a ton on this rule, yet they stubbornly insist to be the only ones in the US that I'm aware of which enforce it in this strict manner.

Steve also enforces it the same strict way in NOLA

Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

I was at a table yesterday when the one round penalty was assessed. I for one think it's a good idea.
1. Not on purpose? An accident? What difference does it make? It's avoidable whether it's "on purpose" or not. It may be an accident but regardless it's also an error, an error that has an impact on the hand, sometimes significantly.
2. It worked. After the penalty everyone joked about it but everyone was also more careful folding. You didn't see anyone launching their cards into intergalactic flight like you usually do.
3. If your average player steams about it I say tough. Deal with it. A one round penalty is not the end of the world.
4. I also wouldn't mind a penalty being assessed for playing out of turn. If you're going to have rules than enforce them, otherwise they are meaningless. Why do you think MLB had a steroid problem? Because there was no penalty for steroid use until recently. Now it's a 50 game suspension and now they are used less, much less.

Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

Long time thread stalker very rare poster...

I loved the fact that they were enforcing the rule so strictly. The recreational player should learn proper ways to fold. Throwing their cards around like a ****ing jackass can affect everyones decisions around them. I believe that they will start harsh just to show everyone they are serious and work from there to make it fair to all parties involved. As a player who travels from stop to stop in the midwest I was joking with the dealers anytime they exposed a card while dealing. Basically all you have to do is not muck your hand like a total ******. This isnt a house game have some respect for the people around you.

Second, I cant believe all the crying about taking a level or 2 out and no crying about every entry being raked. By calling it a "re-entry" the house makes another $40 off a buyin instead of it being a rebuy and them not making anything. I like the idea of re-entries but not the unlimited part. Take your one shot 1A and if you fail come back 1B.

Nightly is a crapshoot and if youre a nit you have no chance of winning. I took 3rd in the one Friday night. Paid $3000 with first being $7400 and a Main Event seat.

For anyone wondering who I am I was the ***hole trying to start a riot during 1B wearing a black red wangz hoodie.
