Wish I could have made it out this mourning. Anyone have an educated guess as to the number of runners in tonight's 8pm NL tourney?

Did anyone complain about the shorter levels this year, and skipping several key levels?

Haven't browsed this thread yet, but I'm coming up for the ME and cash games. What are people expecting in terms of field size for the 3k? Also, are a lot of 2/5 and 5/10 games running? Thanks

Anyone know where I can watch the UFC 144 ppv near the casino? I assume I will be out of everything by then and want to see the fights.

They obviously want to force as many re-entries for Friday.

I called today, couldnt actually get hold of the TD on the phone, but finally ended up leaving a message for this guy called (Jason?) Newman. Assuming he is the cardroom manager and hopefully will hear back.

More people should def call or speak in person.

So they're paying like 8% of the field then? What level did they play to?

They are paying top 10% based on unique number of players in event, not entrants. For example, if you enter 3 times, you only count as 1 for the count on how many to pay.

I agree, it's odd.

Jaon Newman is the poker manager. Charlie Ciresi is the TD, I believe.

Is this confirmed?? That is so backwards. I don't know if I can come up with a logical reason for it, but it just seems like a bad deal for the players. The fact that you have to pay the rake again should mean that the entry is completely separate from previous entries. This increases variance significantly, no?

Oh well, at least the prize pool will be juiced like crazy when they only pay out 6-7% of the total entries.

During the WSOPCE, they paid based on each entry, not person. Guess they're not following what they did in the WSOPCE.

I was shocked last night as I'm used to WSOPC events based on entrants as well. When we flew past 15% of entrants left, I was confused.
10% based on players makes it more top heavy.

Better for the pro, worse for the rec player... as is the re-entry in general. More variance with top heavy payouts but less overall due to multiple shots at the tournament.

Still LOLing you could buy in at dinner yesterday and be one of 350 left with 10BBs.

WSOPC events only let you register once per day at the places I've gone as well including Hammond last fall. This event letting you multiple re-entry the same day is a difference.
