I'll probably hit the first weekend in Palm Beach and come back for this event. It should be a good one.

Here's hoping the turbos are not $200 + $50, but my hunch is they will be.

They're probably $160+$40 with a structure similar to the $200 stimulus.

Hoping to play as many events as possible!! This series seriously has so much value it's sick.

And if anyone from the Shoe reads this, PLEASE keep the 1hr levels in the 7-game. It's my #1 favorite tournament all year. And the structure isn't too slow at all.

Looks rapey/lookin forward to it
Here's to hoping they include/add 50/100 and 250/500/50 to the main (crosses fingers)

Confirm that they do if its the same structures as CPC 2011 (the event schedule is nearly identical)

I'll be here for sure if I'm still in the U.S./not working for the man

That's a good question, probably won't know until closer to the event. Flyer seems to indicate each day but they're going to combine to one field with re-entry so who knows anyway.

I'll be there for as many events as possible. Still only have 10 vacation days from work and have to save 5 for a true vacation. And then I'll have to try and save some for the wsopc next year too. Fml I need like 25 days not 10.

800 players (sold out) in the opening event last year. Very good tournaments at the CPC.

Are structures out yet? Most interested to see if they fixed their 7 game glitch from last year (same blinds for both limit and big-bet games at the same levels).

+1. I wanna come. Live in Detroit. Are there plenty of places to get a room, really wanna do it, without making reservations. Just get in the car and go if the opportunity presents itself....

There is no hotel at the casino. The closest is on Calumet where there is a Ramada, Magnuson and Super 8. There is a good chance all 3 will sell out during the series. I would not suggest going without some sort of plan for lodging.

The area is not the nicest so some people elect to stay further away and drive in. I personally have stayed at all 3 of these hotels and never felt unsafe or anything. The Ramada and Hammond are perfectly fine, I'd say the Super 8 is a step below those 2.

Midway is the closer airport 30-40 minutes. Ohare might be an extra 15 minutes I'm guessing. The hotels mentioned are about 10 minutes from the casino and are like $55-70/night. There is a free shuttle service to these hotels.

Re: Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5

Coming from Philly check out Southwest Airlines at flysouthwest.com for flights into Midway.

Definitely closer to Hammond, IN.

Having a car is bonus as it opens up options for eating and an excursion into Chicago, etc..

The where the casinos are is not great, in fact most of the surrounding area is not great (e.g. Gary, Hammond, East Chicago), but should be fine, especially if you don't looking for any trouble.

Should be an epic turn-out and a lot of fun. GL

Read previous threads from WSOP CE Hammond or CPC to find out where people have stayed and opinions on them. The same questions and issues arise every single time.
