Oh well, at least the prize pool will be juiced like crazy when they only pay out 6-7% of the total entries.
^^ This is so true; and my feeling is going forward these re-entry events are bad for the poker economy. Short term the only ones that benefit are the casinos.

Did not talk to him about preliminary event structures, did not have enough time ....... Would assume they changed them to make sure the events get done in 2 days.... Didn't event 1 go into the third day last year?

Usually you can have a backpack. They just check it at security when you first enter the casino.

Any tourney where 1200 play down to 80 something on day 1 has to be a crapshoot.

I actually found it to be pretty good for making a reasonable time frame tournament for the recreational player.

What's the total entries/payouts like for Event 1?
Chicago Poker Classic 2012 - Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago) Feb. 23 - March 5 Quote

~2600 entries including re-entries
~1500 entrants

Apparantly they're paying out X% (10-15?) of entrants not re-entries.
